Lisa in her book ‘worldly goods’ does accurately represents the production of creative art for depicting one’s wealth and power. In Renaissance period, rich and wealthy people commissioned master artist to create exclusive art works which showed their culture and wealth.Body - I)Lisa Jardine in her book explains that an expensive piece of art were common in the aristocratic families.ii) She further explains that a patron and an artist had a close connection and details of the art were decided by the patron and artist had a minor role to play in the creation of art.

In those times, rich and royal families would sponsor artist works and pay master artist to create extraordinary piece of art. Commissioning art was a prestigious thing in those days, and only extremely wealthy people could afford to do the same. Wealthy families and renaissance merchants owned artistic pieces to show the society that they possessed excessive wealth and power.
Being a patron of a famous artist showed to the people that you are cultured and have a high taste in art. Possessing art pieces and paintings and commissioning artist were activities done by rich in those times and hence renaissance period definitely used art to showcase their power and wealth.
