The book is majorly an opinion but Batista supports his argument with official records that prevail in government publication to justify his opinions. To Batista and as outlined in the book, his reign was a success as well as a rise from a regime that never felt for the citizens. By analyzing events that happened during his reign, i.e. after the takeover from Machado’s administration in 1933, up to the subjugation of Batista’s reign by the communist ion in 1959; Batista makes it clear, that communism was the cause of the countries decline and supports it with documented evidence.
