My High School Graduation Ceremony Although it appeared to have come a little earlier, it is true that it had taken me so many years to realize the wonderful dream of graduating with my high school diploma. After sixteen years of undergoing both intensive and extensive academic programs, it was now the time to wear the coveted crown that was to validate my progress to the subsequent levels. In as much as this seemed as a great milestone in my academic achievement, little did I know that it was only setting the foundation for more rigorous academic programs. Certainly, there is nothing more enjoyable that successfully completing one phase of an academic program how minute and insignificant it could be. It could never have brought more joy to my family and me as it marked a great step in my academic and social life. This is mainly because, I was going to process to my next level of education, and this would mean a lot especially to my parents who were eager to see me complete my education in a successful manner. To me, it meant relieving myself of some academic stress as I set my eyes on college education. On the other hand, it was a turning point in my social life in many aspects mainly because I was going to change my learning environment. This is especially what excited me owing to the numerous enticing stories I had heard concerning higher education. Due to the enthusiasm about completing my high school education, I together with my parents planned appropriately to ensure that the graduation ceremony was a success. This was particularly so because I was in the process of transition to new levels of academic engagements and, therefore, I had to bid farewell to the high school life together with my friends. Concerning my social life, I had great anticipations that the high school graduation was going to be the turning point by influencing the kinds of friends I was going to make in my future life. Although I had good friends in high school, I was very anxious on that day because I was sure that I was going to make even more friends and perhaps take my relationships to the next level. In this respect, I vividly remember talking with friends about the kind of life and friends that we were to expect once we would be enrolled for colleges. Since I was leaving my friends in order to go and make new friends, I had to make the day memorable by inviting friends and families. What particularly motivated me was the fact that I would miss most of my friends whereby I was going to meet strangers and make new friends. Thus, the social aspect of my graduation ceremony was a real factor to reckon with. In the above regards, my graduation ceremony was a colorful one thanks to many friends and relatives who gave a helping hand in the planning and organizing parts. I have to thank my parents specifically for their financial contribution that accentuated the planning part to the logical conclusion. For the better part of the planning, I involved my parents, siblings, and close friends who played an instrumental role in securing the space for the graduation party. In this aspect, virtually everyone invited attended both the ceremony and the party, and this made the event a success. On this eventful day, most of my friends both those who did not attend and the ones who did congratulated me for the good grades that I had been able to achieve. I must admit that I received so many presents and gifts from my friends and family to the extent that I had to borrow extra place where I could store some of them. Additionally, I received moral, spiritual, and psychological support about the transition for it to go in a smooth and responsible way. On that memorable day, everybody assembled at the graduation square where we were to be conferred with the high school diploma certificates as it had been planned. Indeed, the day was colorful with different kinds of activities ranging from dances to all sorts of sporting activities. Anyone passerbying who was oblivious of the graduation ceremony that was in progress could be excused for thinking that there was an international trade fair underway. In fact, songs and dances could be heard from a considerable distance where the graduation was taking place. In addition, all of the students who participated in the graduation ceremony were clad in different academic regalia depending on their academic performances in various fields. The teaching staff too could be spotted in a distinct academic dressing that denoted their ranks and departments within the school. It was such a colorful day that even the little children who attended the ceremony enjoyed themselves, as the management prepared a special playground for them with various kinds of the playing equipment. As far as the graduation party is concerned, everybody moved to the various iconic spots within the school for a photo shoot session. Indeed, we took so many photos that I do not recognize some of the people I took photos with at the event. After the photo shoot, all invited guests, friends, and families headed for the graduation party where we had prepared lots of food and refreshments. Actually, everyone was delighted with the kind of arrangement that we had put in place, as there were all sorts of cuisines at the venue to satisfy the taste of everyone present. Besides, there were lights of different colors at the venue that lighted the event in line with the celebratory mood that cut across the whole compound that was full of diversity. Although most of my friends and relatives had anticipated a conventional celebration at the event, most of them admitted that, indeed, they were stunned by the level of planning and organizing of the whole event, as it was out of the ordinary. This was especially so because of careful planning. Read More
