The cited land is attractive for those who want to become an actor and artist to prove his or her mettle besides tourists since they do not find any place on earth in terms of diversity of cultures and beauty. It is one of the most creative places in the world in terms of its technological advancement and the learning academies in every nook and corner (Citrin & Highton 39). Further, it is blessed with nature that attracts tourists/visitors in and outside the world. Take the example of Mount Whitney besides the oldest, tallest and the largest trees.
How can we ignore the highest Yosemite Falls and the best view of Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park, most beautiful roads and the number of a safe haven for wildlife (McCarthy & Valdez 59)? Apart from many advantages of the cited land we have to consider the problems for the immigrants at seriatim. The first and foremost problem an immigrant has to face the language problem. It is observed that a number of immigrants do not speak English fluently. Secondly searching for house/apartment and then finding a job to meet both ends meet are not an easy task.
Another problem for the immigrant is the absence of his or her friends and relatives. The racial discrimination is another issue which one has to face during the phase of immigration. It is felt by most of the Californians that the number of jobs took by the immigrants leaving for them a little opportunity to grab. The immigrants are the best example of “old habits die hard” in terms of adoption of customs, culture, and traditions. Further they come from different ethnic and religious background, therefore, usually congregate in the small areas of the city.
Initially the immigrants find it difficult to mingle up with the customs, culture, and traditions of a migrant city but later on, they learned the art of survival (McCarthy & Valdez 65). Of course, California is the mixture of locally born population and the foreign-born population. According to the statistics of 2011, 27% of California’s population comprised of a foreign-born population which is almost twice of the local-born population. As far as the Foreign-born residents are concerned it represents above 30% of seven California counties population.
The figures of 2011 show 66% of the immigrant labor force as compared to 62% of the U.S born labor force which is likely to be increased in the years to come. If we measure the income of foreign-born householders as per the statistic, it is 20% lower than the householders born in California. The foreign-born immigrants are living in poverty as compared to their counterparts. The published percentage in this respect support our stance (18.9% compared to 15.7%) (Citrin & Highton 53). Analytical review of the Vietnamese Youths shows, in the remote past, parents had the great influence to keep their wards intact with their family customs and traditions.
During the initial process of immigration, the Vietnamese youth did not dear to raise their voice against their parents choice. In other words, if their parents were doctors, engineers or teachers they persuaded their children to adopt the same profession in future. Hence, the generation of that time could not adopt own chosen lifestyle (Marr 76). Contrary to the above, a lifestyle of Vietnamese youth in vogue drastically changed as compared to the past.
