?‘Technology developments over the past 30 years have had only positive effects on people's health’ Today, humanity has arrived to a juncture in its timeline, when science is aiding him the most. His thought pattern and behaviour are fast becoming logical. It is with this fact that science has been able to form the very foundations of man and his ambiance’s relationship. He learns and manipulates the environment for his own betterment. This betterment is now fast becoming more vibrant and sizeable, to achieve a win-win situation for the people. The aim of man has been to pursue such a goal that is everlasting and beneficent for him and the people to come. Technology that is in fact for the sake of betterment of our lives has “proven to be the best companion of man” during this epoch (Kincaid, 2004). It all started with the invention of “cotton gin in 1792”, which proved to be a great turn in human history. People were able to turn from Neolithic mode of living to more improved life style. The pinnacle of the era that started off during the late 15th century matured in the mid 1850s. And it was the beginning of industrial revolution where mass production, and social revolution, took place of intensive farming and symbiotic lifestyle. Thus it can be said that late 20th century was the finality of man to realize that his salvage for the sake of longevity and betterment can only be achieved through technological advancement and (Lakwete, 2005). People devised ways for healthy living through the use of technology. Impetus for such a move was from the ailment, problematic and contorted living man has been in, throughout his history. Thus science for the sake of technology for better living has proven to be the answer (Intille, 2004). It has caused a great deal of help in achieving physiological or biogenic need of man. It has been able to provide secure lives to people and thus has been able to revolutionise our society. Attending to the negative side of the use of technology, one can see that the use of technology in for increasing the ways for mass production and better crop yield, has brought along with it great problems that pertain to the “environmental pollution” and deterioration of the ecological balance. However, it is up will of people to pay heed to these issues. Their whimsical moves have, of course, created problems, and to contain unwanted and extravagant life, man should be mindful to the facts about his environment. (library.thinkquest.org) Past 30 years have been very much important since they advancement in technology tends to concentrate during this era. The invention of integrated circuits has caused compact designs and miniature devices, available for the general use of man. The important factor that has emerged during this era is the work and field specialization and their integration for the collective working for the man. People have been able to deduce solutions that are based on two or more separate specialized streams of technology, say, use of medical science and the proposals from athletes, and mechanical engineers to form such a device that may help in overcoming obesity (ScienceDaily.com, 2011). Taking this technological facet we can put forward an example which proves the notion that “mix of technologies” has literally improved and achieved those blessings of science that were not thought of ever before. The technologies used by physiotherapists, engineering scientists and medical scientists in tandem with each other can prove to be of great use. The gym equipment, today, is used for targeting a special slack in human physiology (Mishra, 2010). “Machines that are operated manually and with electronic aid can help regulating health” concerns like blood flow, tissues development, and cell physiology. Tread mill is one such example that helps in curtailing the mental constrains and extra physical exertion during typical arduous terrain exercises. Specialized weight equipment that concentrates on specific muscle is in common use (Plowman & Smith, 2008). Their name and acronym tells the type of muscles or muscle pair they are directing. It helps achieving in better blood flow to the relevant part of the body. In addition to the typical health concern of such machinery by the use of technology, we find them equally applicable to the beauty and fashion aspect of our society. Today’s world has become an arena of presentation. Personal beauty is coupled with a man’s attitude for self maintenance. Looks matter and they make people acceptable in the ambiance they live in. The life style is manifest in these exercises and technology has been able to make people mindful that their outlook means their insight of living better. The use of technology is not restricted to few of such aspects. It has revolutionized the concept of people that they are no longer governed by sedentary life styles. Medical science has made it possible to counter the problems in today’s sedentary life style. It is important that the use of electronic devices in operations, transplantation, general surgical procedures is the fruit of the use of technology. During the last 30 years skin transplant, lever transplant and other such medical interventions have made it possible to overcome chronic fatal ailments people have been facing since long. It is pertinent to mention that the use of micro biology coupled with biomedical engineering has taken numerous steps that have been able to explore “genetic make” of human body, only to understand the root causes (ucsusa.org). The causal analysis of the diseases and their harmful effects have made the scientists and technologists to make such operation and intervention equipment, that help in quelling the causes and even countering the forgery they do in natural path of human life. To name a few one immediately reminds of the ordeal faced and the blessing of technology for the purpose of sorting out the issues. (Rosser, et al., 2004). We see, for example; Pace-makers, that are used for keeping heart beat to a certain level; infusion pumps and heart lung machines for the process of injection of blood keeping intact within normal value; dialysis machines and peritoneal cavity infusion of certain filtering liquids in case of malfunctioning kidney, at their best for fast and confident interventions. In hospitals we find equipments, without which it is impossible to think that medical science today is acceptable (Kallenbach, 2012). During 1970s the development of advance surgical instruments was taken as a challenge because death during mismanagement of operation procedures and lack of specialized devises was not seen. Today we see many surgical instruments that are of far more technologically advance than those which were used 30 years ago. These surgical instruments are today classified according to their use and mode of operation. Most of the devices are important as they have become nerve of general operations. Without these specialized devices and equipments it is impossible for the physicians and surgeons to carry out general examination and operations (Deitel & Shikora, 2002). These discoveries, the “specialized surgical” and medical equipments have made experimentation easy and with low risk for any sort of fatality. Laws are now stronger that are with the patient’s way, only because the technological advancement allows so (Carey, 2009). Numerous are the benefits of technology that have made people live better, as Heraclius said that nothing endures but change, and, thus, so is the case with the human journey that has husbanded technology for its own benefit. Information Technology and such fields of data sharing and communication has made possible for man to propagate best medical and other technological practices for the sake of humanity. People are now well aware of the option they have. Another aspect that can be quoted to substantiate the use of technology, during the last 30 years, in making a positive impact on lives of the people is the use of transport technology. From data transmission to the human and material transport, one can see the blessings of technology as great achievement. From life saving to the relief aid, the use of fast and reliable transport system has made the world a global village. Ambulances with specialized installed equipment, airplanes with whole hospital on board are just a glimpse of what human has achieved. In the case of the “son of Mr. Onassis”, a businessman from Greece, we can see that from it has been not more than 30 years that medical airplanes came into being. A specialized plane was prepared with all medical facilities on board that helped fighting the disease. Although the fatality remained as destiny but this happening was first of its kind, and is also being used today with more improvements. The suffrage of people in remote areas can be lessened with fast transportation system. The epitome can be cited here, as unmatchable events of rescue in Africa (Tracy, 2008). The use of technology is a revolutionizing concept. It is a fact that medical science, use of engineering methods and other such knowledge fields are a great event to be celebrated by man. Our life style has changed to a very positive extent and it is thus enduring a blessing on mankind on the whole. It is pertinent to mention here that during the past 30 years, technological advancement has concentrated to an advance level. Today we see that technological blend is taking place due to demands for even better lifestyle which ensures health, longevity, security and integration in our lives. Bibliography CAREY, W. B.
