This state is delicate in the sense that it triggers some revelations and memories (Silko 32) The author thinks she has lost what humanity cannot desire to lose. The author feels about the demons or the ghost she saw in the past and what she thinks happens after individuals we cherished and loved dies. A few days after they have gone, they manifest themselves in another form through the wind that twinkles in the light despite the fact that there is no breeze. In this sense, it is clear that the realms of the souls or the spirits visit us from time to time. The author argues that when our loved ones die, it does not imply the end of life but it shows the end of physical life and the start of an era of rest after a tedious and tiresome work on earth. This era of rest will continue until the day of resurrection, when everybody will encounter God who will in turn judge their earthly behaviors and determine the eternal fate or the fate of their souls. In the beginning of the book, the writer explains her heritage and background, which includes Mexican, Irish, and Native American. Further, the author had the opportunity to write about the trail of tears and slavery. The author tells vividly narrates her growing in a dysfunctional with a mother who was an alcoholic but fortunately, she obtained her support from the extended family (Silko 15). The book Turquoise Ledge shows the return of spirits and deities on earth after a certain period. The return of the spirits to the earth is in most cases triggered by contempt and wrath upon people. For instance, Silko states that an undertone of troublesome rumbles from the bulldozers of unknown developer who crushed the arroyo shows the contempt of annoyed spirits towards humans. In addition, the author goes on to explain that animals are very significant in her life. For instance, she writes that she felt anxious and uneasy to please everyone and preferred to be on her own but instead she prefers to be with animals than humans. The author shows her fury towards other human when she expressed anger against men in bulldozers who destroyed the environment. This in turn shows how she perceives some humans in low regards. In the author’s ancestry, Laguna Pueblo illustrates how colonization history led to violence, subjugation, oppression, and racism (Silko 49-51). The way the book is written, it does not show a feature of a cleverly structured book and in most cases lacks the quality of a contemporary legend that is inducing in the Silko’s work. However, Silko has written the book in a unique manner with an intention of inhabiting a sense or mind that lives and breathes, in myth rather than a report or recording, in space rather time. The author has clearly shown theoretical criticism of development or progress via empty and homogenous time. The author’s book has quality in the sense that logic or reason promises a new word. For instance, in her book, Silko argues that when her mother died in 2001, rattlesnakes fit apart on the roads or trails near her shelter and describes how these animals, the snake become her mother. This revealed her sense for the love of animals (Silko 78-81). In this manner, Silko illustrates the curious concept of modern life is the seemingly attitude of many people refusing to pay attention to well developed recommendations for beneficial or healthier behavior, such as in energy and health ...Download file to see next pagesRead More
