 Analysis of Sustainable Development Sustainable development is a type of modernization that is aimed at development of infrastructure and at the same time conserves the environment. This type of development was established for the sake of future generation. With the realization of an efficient sustainable development in developing countries, future generations will not have to worry about negative environmental changes. This development comprises of plans which are developed by environmentalist who have environmental interest as first priority. With modern cities being developed on a daily basis, natural factors need to be protected. It is for this reason sustainable development was established (Dearden & Bruce, 2005). Urbanization is the development of urban areas to more advanced infrastructure to suit the existence of human life. Urbanization is mostly influenced by rural urban migration which has been on the increases in modern years. Urbanization is characterized by huge population to both major and minor cities around the world. With huge population, the development of these cities has become the major priority in order make life in these cities comfortable to humans. However, different from sustainable development, urbanization is not environment cautious as technological advancement is its first priority. According to Dearden & Bruce (2005) urbanization only aim is to advance cities and suburbs to suit human existence. Urbanization comes with a lot of problems especially environmental problems. In the modern century many conferences have been convened to address global warming. Global warming is a major factor that comes with urbanization. In urban cities pollution is a common factor. Pollution from factories and vehicles cause global warming. Urbanization has also led to congestion of urban cities. In sustainable development, there are policies which ensure this type of development is successful. One major policy of substantial development is that no natural existing feature will be destroyed so that a modern infrastructure can be developed. In some nations, development of suburbs has begun to reduce rural urban migration. In this way there is standard modernization levels in all cities, this is also aimed at improving future life in the suburbs for future generations. With sustainable development problems caused by urbanization can be easily solved. For instance, sustainable development is against emission of waste from factories. In sustainable development there is the sensitization on recycling waste rather than emission. Additionally, sustainable development suburbs are developed which reduces the rural urban migration rates. In this case, there will be less congestion in big cities and the growth rate of a whole country can be standard and effective. Lack of urban space hinders development of a particular area. In many major cities development of new projects requires the destruction of already existing projects which is not appropriate. In new advancement in terms of development, urban space is very important. This problem hinders the success of the younger generation. The future generation will have to use what was developed in the past. According to Dearden & Bruce (2005) this problem will make the future generation dependent on already existing infrastructure. The authors further argue that, lack of urban space will be the greatest hindrance to innovation and modern technological advancements. Lack o urban space will also lead to development of sub standard buildings. With more population flocking urban areas, there is an urgent need for shelter and housing. If these populations lack appropriate space for construction of shelter, they will find the least available location and space to put up sub-standard structures. This scenario is evident in many African nations where by slums are being put around major cities. These slums hold urban dwellers that live below the daily minimum wage. Urban transport has been termed by environmentalists as the worst enemy to clean air. In the modern transport system, carbon emission by vehicles is a general scenario. With rising technological advances, the need for modernized machines cannot be inevitable. These modernized machines run by the use of fuel which contain poisonous materials. In recent years, the issue of global warming has been the issue of contention in many environmental conferences. Modern transportation in urban areas contributes about 30% of global warming (Dearden & Bruce, 2005). Urban transport is also a major contributor to lack of urban space. With development of advanced railway lines and road transport large urban space has been used. To curb this problem, automobile manufacturing companies should come up with cars that use environmental friendly fuel. For example, there has been the development of a car which uses electric power rather than fuel. From this car, there is 0% emission of carbon materials in the atmosphere. From the development of this car, it was made known that it is possible to have alternative forms of fuel. In words of Dearden & Bruce (2005), using of alternative forms if fuel will be the first step to achieving clean urban areas. With global warming becoming a worldwide problem, this type of cars will be the best strategy in reducing the growth rate of global warming. In dealing with the problem of urban space, government should limit the development of transport station in one urban center. Railway stations and massive highways should also be developed in rural areas. This will not only save space in major urban areas but also improve the living conditions in rural areas. This will in turn reduce congestion rates in major urban cities. Evidence of the success of a sustainable development can be well explained by life in the past centuries. Before modernized constructions, there were no threats to the ozone layer and congestion in urban cities. However, this evidence is arguable as Dearden & Bruce (2005) claim that the life in the modern century is more challenging and we need advancement to make our lives comfortable. Considering a globe where a sustainable development is the only way to advancement is close to impossible. Countries with major manufacturing companies have declined calls to stop emissions of poisonous gases in the atmosphere. This claim has been evident in many environmental conferences where many companies have sabotaged the solutions proposed in the meetings. Even as sustainable development seems close to impossible, evidence such as the electric car has given hope to environment activists. The ban to use of nuclear chemicals by the U.S is also evidence that it is possible to achieve effective sustainable development. Conclusion Sustainable development policies should provide stern rules which government should be obliged to follow. In dealing with the lack of space, these policies should stop the development of congested infrastructure in urban areas. The policies should provide location set aside for shelter constructions, public land and space for monuments, this will hinder congestion of buildings and transport infrastructure. To curb the problems caused by transport, policies governing the fuel used in automobiles should be developed.
