In our daily life, we don’t want to meet people who annoy us. When friends get together, they tease one another. They call one another names and make fun of one another. They don’t care if the other person is minding. In such situations, many people don’t know what to do. So they end up getting away from friends. I know this because I have felt like this many times in my life. I don’t like when people make fun of me. But unfortunately, wherever three friends get together, two of them get together to make fun of the third. Real life interactions are full of this stuff. But this is not so on Facebook, which is why I like socializing on Facebook more than in real life. On Facebook, people poke one another. In everyday life, I would not go to a class fellow who I don’t talk to regularly. But it is easier to approach people on Facebook. You poke someone who is not your friend. He pokes you in return, and the two can get along with each other. This is one example how Facebook promotes social networking among people. There are many other examples like this. One thing that plays the most important role in broadening the friends’ network is the fact that everybody on your profile is named as your friend.
