Health and safety audits will examine safety planning procedures, decision-making delegation policymaking, and implementation as well as areas of safety program planning (Bartle, 2009). For the pre-construction, the site should be well prepared for the workers to be able to work in conducive environments. The public should also be made aware of the construction that is about to take place so that they can be ready for any changes and report anything that is reportable to the authorities in case the public is bound to be affected negatively by the construction process.

The contractor should ensure that there are necessary first aid kits (World Health Organization, 1999). During construction, the principal contractor should ensure that all workers have the proper working and safety gear e.g. helmets and working boots to avoid small accidents. When it comes to post-construction there is a lot of waste that can -3emanate e.g. the unused metals for construction could erode the soil making it unsuitable for vegetation in the future hence all metals should be kept in the appropriate conditions for their maintenance (Bartle, 2009).

The waste should be disposed of appropriately to avoid it having side effects on the community because the contractor has a duty to the welfare of the public at large. After the completion of the project the site should be now ready to use and any materials such as nails that might be dangerous to human beings done away with. No dumping should be done in other areas to avoid polluting such environments for a better future.  The possible materials that can be recycled should be recycled to minimize waste and also in the long run cut on the cost which will be of benefit to the contractor (Bartle, 2009).
