Effect of Material and Section Shape in Bending Insert Insert Contents Contents 2 Introduction 3 Copper metal 10 Steel metal 11 Aluminum 12 Methodology: 12 Results and calculation 13 Conclusion and recommendation 20 List of References 21 Introduction Bending modules: Bending is the stress ratio of a particular beam to its strain capacity. In bending, pressure ratio of various materials of beams has different factors that determine its bending capacity, For instance, the shape of the beam. Most shapes of the beams are the ones that dictate its straining capacity. However, the material in which then beam is made of also contributes a lot to its bending strain. Therefore, the engineers have come up with materials and techniques to enable the bend the beams quickly and safely. Overview Young module is a technique that is used to measure the bending stress level to staining capacity of a particular beam. Therefore, this lab report is going to measure, how beams of different shapes and sizes respond to bending. In addition, the lab report is also going to include the materials that were used in determining the bending capacity of a particular material. Moreover, the lab report is also going to explain various theories and mechanism that will enable an individual to estimate the bending capacity or the force required to bend a particular object (Ashby, 1999). The lab report is also going to compare different experimental methods used in the study to enable proper understanding of turning modules. The lab report is also going to explain various precautions that one need to consider during exercise. It is because some beams have sharp edges and be dangerous to an individual. Moreover, the lab report is also going to give the as well as the recommendation in relation to bending modules. Aim – The overall purpose of the work There are beams that have the shape that allow the constructor to bend it without lots of difficulties. However, there are also other shapes of the beam that can literally consume ones time in its bending. Therefore, the basic principal aim of this laboratory report is to acquire a better comprehension of the impacts of material and section shape on the stiffness of beams in bending. Purpose and Objectives The specific goals to achieve There are various materials that respond differently to the elastic limit of stress. Therefore, the primary goal of this lab report is to carry out the comparison of different beam section shapes on the bending stiffness. In addition, the goal of the report is also determining young’s module and its impacts on the bending stress of different materials. Read More
