Cornflake Production s Energy management within an industry entails the planning as well as the operation of productions processes that are related to energy and consumption units. In this paper, analysis of how to establish and maintain energy management philosophy at a cornflake production plant is described. Typically, the viewpoint of establishing and maintaining a way of conserving energy is to achieve certain objectives. The key objectives would include conservation of resources, environmental/climate protection, and minimizing costs.

Typically, the industry plant would be a great consumer of energy just like any other plants using huge machines. Most of the energy resources used are unclean and include mostly coal and petroleum fuels. These fuels are not only a threat to the environment but also costly. This implies that in the course of establishing and maintaining the energy management system, the most critical aspects need to be considered. The first action is to establish an energy policy to govern the use of energy in the plant.

Next an energy management representative should be appointed. The resources can then be provided at this point. The main objective of the plant is to make profits (Kals & Würtenberger, 2012). The energy used should thus be affordable. One of the major objectives of the organization would be to minimize its costs and using cheap energy would be a great achievement. Nevertheless, this kind of energy has to be available because it would be impossible to plan on a source of energy that is difficult or too costly to find (Kals & Würtenberger, 2012).

Given the current concern on global warming, environmental management is a key consideration in the type of energy used in industries. This concern means that high emissions should be avoided. This goal could only be achieved with energy resources that emits less carbon, sulfa, or any other chemicals that contribute to global warming (Kals & Würtenberger, 2012). In essence, the energy management philosophy would focus on three key factors. These factors include availability, cost, and environmental friendliness.
