Discussion
Engineers are at liberty to provide services to businesses and individuals within the codes of ethics that prohibit restriction to competition or boycotts. For most of the time, government agencies and clients seek to limit the engineers’ ability to perform their services either by contract or other means. However, the NSPE code of ethics encourages free and open competition among engineers and engineering firms as long as it is consistent with the laws, regulations, and practices applicable. However, some restrictions may apply depending on certain restrictions, circumstances, or facts and the general rule here is that engineers are free to offer their professional services to clients of their own choosing.

Conclusion
Therefore it was unethical for Engineer A to enter into an agreement that would limit the companies that he can work for since this would prevent him from freely practicing their profession. Read More
