Why Do I Deserve the Scholarship? Application to Learn in the Netherlands

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am making an application for my master’s program at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I would be grateful if the VUFP Scholarship became part of my career goals by helping me pay for my higher education. I believe being part of an international business management program will help me actualize my life goal of helping others. I am settling for this course because it will give me essential skills that society will always be on the lookout for. Other than this, going to learn abroad will open me up to other opportunities. More options mean better opportunities, which is excellent for an opportunist like me. This makes me very motivated to learn in the Netherlands.

Currently, I am done with my bachelor's in IT, material management, and supply chain management. My dedication and hard work have not only seen me excel in my classes but also made me a notable leader in the field. I have always been among the top students in my class and a group leader in most of the teamwork and practical activities we took. Other than this, I am actively involved in organizing events to support, educate, and motivate my classmates. This has helped me grow my self-confidence, communication skills, and, most importantly, the nuances of my career, meaning that I already have something to build on once I join the business management program in the Netherlands.

I am keen on international masters. I have selected the Vrije Universiteit since it is a well-recognized university and located in the Netherlands. I have always wanted to visit Amsterdam, and studying there would be such a great opportunity. Other than this, I have received many pieces of advice from my mentors and former students of the university that makes me believe it is the right institution for my career.

The curriculum there has all the functional units and practical classes I need to turn me into a highly skilled business management guru. The program focuses on entrepreneurship, and this, coupled with my creativity, will provide me with the tools I need to consider venturing out and starting my own business after the program.

I plan to focus on my studies and what I deem essential once I get there. This has been the secret to my success so far. I always evaluate my action and never waste time chasing skills that would be not useful to me. This is the answer to the ‘why do I deserve the scholarship?’ question. My passion for learning will not only put me through this but also ensure that your scholarship goes into educating someone who will better the society for years to come.

Throughout my academic life, I have always had the knack for long-term concentration and paying attention to studies no matter what. My long attention span is not only useful in class but comes in handy when I am in other meetings or events in the field. This is why I believe I deserve the VUFP scholarship program. It will go into teaching someone motivated enough to use the newly acquired knowledge to better society. In retrospect, you could say my journey to the Netherlands would be similar to what Peter the Great, the Russian Tsar, did when he visited the country to better his empire's shipbuilding skills. I know when what I need is not available in my country, and I am not afraid to move to whatever international school has the useful knowledge I seek.

While I might be motivated and keen on studying at the university, I must admit that I cannot do it without financial assistance. I come from a modest family that cannot pay for all my tuition fees and caters to my basic needs. The scholarship will give me peace of mind as I will not have to juggle my program with a part-time job. The time I get will be used to focus on gathering all the knowledge while at the university, mastering international business management strategies, and also networking so that I have the useful contacts of a similarly minded individual once I finish my studies. The program will grow my academic skills while also improving my international connections and relations. I will have to learn and master a new foreign language, understand new cultures, and affect my field. This information will make me a better career person than I would have been having I not left my home country for the Netherlands.

My interactions at this international university will train me on how to seal deals with people of diverse backgrounds. It will be a training ground for my social skills as I will learn to be more accommodating. This will be useful in developing my career. I am especially keen on improving my English. Since this will be my basic mode of communication, I will have to master it.

English is an important international language. Learning it will make me a better team player while improving my chances of exercising my leadership skills on teams that are from across the globe. This is an important step in my plan to be a good business manager. Being in a setting where I must use a second language to express my ideas, be it in writing or a spoken presentation, will put me on my toes and force me to learn it faster. Even though I have a good command of the international language, I believe that studying at this university will allow me to become more fluent.

I have never been abroad yet. As such, I understand going abroad for studies will have its own set of challenges. It is safe to say that it will be one of the biggest steps of my life. That does not scare me, though. I have been through many changes in life and always find a way to come on top. My dedication, concentration, and ability to latch on what is essential carry me through most of the time. Since this journey would be a quest for knowledge, I will have no trouble coping as long as my tuition and basic needs are covered during the business management program. I believe that my hard work and dedication will make me a valuable member of the university's department. The knowledge I gather and what I do not only better me but also help the department solidify its position in the world of business studies. I will be grateful if you consider my application and accept to help make my dreams come true.
