As information a Technology and Networking Intern, there are some codes of professional conducts that are detrimental during the entire session. Precisely, interns are required to act in a professional and ethical manner amidst other employed personnel in the organisation. Prior to enlisting of the codes of professional conduct, it is imperative to denote the standard professional guidelines that could contribute to a successful internship. Most importantly, these codes are supposed to ensure that the organisational objectives are achieved. Codes of professional conduct during internship I have to embrace regular communication - The first code of professional conduct that is detrimental in the internship is that of maintaining regular communication (Conduct Policy, 2011). Precise and regular communication between me and the internship coordinator and faculty internship coordinator is very important. It is one way of identifying and assessing the progress in the internship at the company. I ought to maintain confidentiality of the workforce and the project of the company- The fact that I am given an internship opportunity in a company means that I gets ample access to some of the crucial organisational information (Internships, 2015). It is, therefore, considered, a professional requirement to observe confidentiality of that information. I should maintain a positive attitude - It is essential for an intern to learn how to maintain a positive attitude. It is essential to learn to live and cooperating with the workers of the organisation. It makes it easy forme to learn and get professional assistance with regards to how the organisation operates. It is my duty to maintaining the code of conduct associated with drugs and alcohol- It is inappropriate for me to report in the organisation while under the influence of alcohol or any other unauthorized drugs. Failure to observe such ethics could lead to immediate expulsion from the organisation. It could also reflect or give a negative impression about me. I should always dress appropriately -It is essential for me to maintain a decent code of dressing during the internship period. Personal presentation is an ultimate expression of what one is and can do. Thus, organisations are likely to recommend or absorb me if I show decency. I should embrace group-performance- it is essential that I engage or learn to embrace group or collective performance. That includes the art of consulting each other before making any decision. I ought to demonstrate constructive criticism in the bid to improve performance- being part of the organisation means that I have to ensure that he passes professional criticism when it is important (Fouad, Grus, Hatcher, Kaslow, Hutchings, Madson & Crossman, 2009). Further, any form of criticism should not feature selfish interest. It should be used to foster achievement of organisational goals. I have to demonstrate professional conduct during the internship by enhancing professional effectiveness via improving skills and acquiring updated knowledge. I should also seek feedback and correction from the supervisors (Fouad et.al, 2009). That includes appreciating corrections in a bid to improve performance. It is also essential for me show ethical conduct by respecting working hours. For instance, I should avoid conducting personal business during the working hours. It is imperative for me ascertain that one becomes open minded. That means that I should take time before making decisions that do not help to achieve and honourthe organisational objectives and policies. I am supposed to familiarize with the organisational policies, rules, procedures, and functions that make up the organisation. That makes it possible for one to engage with all stakeholders effectively. I ought to know that Time consciousness or punctuality is also a very detrimental element of an intern. It shows readiness to cooperate and achieve the common goals. It is also essential for the me to report arising issues such as a change in supervision, work schedules and other related problems to the COS internship coordinator (Roberts, Borden, Christiansen & Lopez, 2005). I should demonstrate values of fairness and equity amidst other interns and permanent staff. I should now embrace the arising concept of global integration. That involves respecting everyone’s culture, religion and race. It is also my responsibility as an intern to ensure that I do not misrepresent the acquired professional qualification in favour of disguised gifts and coercion. I am also required to complete all the work or duties assigned to me in due time. That means that effectiveness and efficiency in performance are essential. It is also essential to take part in any form of company-sponsored activities and training sessions. That creates chances to gather additional skills and opportunities to create networks. I am also required to keep all the journals, contacts, record dates, special reports and other relevant information that is beneficial for future reference. Part 2: Report Introduction The following report depicts the activities, industrial description and affiliated information associated with Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company. The information outlined in the report incorporates a detailed analysis of the characteristics of the company from a full-time internship. Much of the documented information is gathered directly from the experience gathered during the internship. Having taken a full-time internship in the company as an Information Technology and System major student, the report possesses detrimental information, as far as, the related practices are concerned. Despite the region’s consistency in turmoil, the oil and gas production industry has been performing in an undisputable manner. For instance, the regions are heavy relied upon for petroleum products. In fact, recent statistics depicts that the gross domestic product of United Arabs Emirates highly depends on the production of the oil and gas products. The Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company is one company whose organisational objective is to strive further to improve the reserves of oil, as well as, natural gas. The companies perform equally effectively in the information technology sector in a bid to heighten its capacity to compete in the global market. Corporate background and history From an analytical point of understanding, Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company ranks as a major producer of both oil and natural gas. Recent developments include the establishment of the Abu office and the strategic Joint Venture Petrofac Emirates in the year 2008. The company has managed to initiate the three mega projects namely Satah, Upper Zakum and Bab oil field oil projects. It is presumed that the facilities will commence operating in the year 2017. Organization, culture and values The company observes certain values in a bid to foster affirmative performance. First, the company embraces dynamic processes in the context of operations and human relations. For example, the company has established performance appraisal system. The company is also embracing a system of rewarding the outstanding employees (Davidson, 2009). Thus, the company is always ready to embrace new skills and ideas into the system. My internship objectives The major objectives are categorised in varied categories. They include the technical, business and personal objectives. The following is an outline of my internship objectives. Technical objectives 1. I intend to upgrade to capacity and knowledge as far as information technology and information systems 2. To link the professional knowledge acquired in class with the technical activities being carried out in the company 3. To promote my zeal for innovativeness with regards to information technology and information systems amongst other categories of systems. 4. To learn some skills from the permanent technicians in the company 5. To play a paramount role gathering technical ideas especially with regards to the ongoing project innovation process in the company Business objectives 1. To learn the strategy used by the company to excel despite the economic-affiliated challenges that UAE has 2. To learn how some organisational strategies work, such as team-operating amongst other professional approaches of operations. 3. To have ample knowledge of what strategies work for dynamic companies. Personal objectives 1. First, I intend to create a positive impression about myself. That will enable me secure any chances that exist of being hired permanently 2. Creation of network with other technicians and business gurus is also another objective that I have 3. I intend to learn and elevate my level of confidence, as far as, my profession is concerned. 4. To garner an exclusive recommendation before leaving the company after the internship period. My questions about the company 1. Is it possible for the company to entrust me to work closely with the primary technicians in the information technology and systems departments? 2. What strategy does the company use to remain the major shareholder at 60 percent level? 3. How often does the company exercise performance-appraisal activities? 4. Are there new Information Technology systems does the company possess today? Conclusion Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company is identified to have a very rich industrial and business profile. Every attribute of the company is associated with its complex past. Taking an internship in the company is a great professional and personal opportunity to establish a moving career. The values and culture seem conducive to fresh and robust ideas. The historical background shows that innovativeness and ample consciousness of the successive management teams of the company have assisted it gain potentiality in the gas and oil production activities.
