The paper "Reading and Writing Difficulties" is an excellent example of an essay on education. Learning is a continuous process involving the exposure of learners to new concepts using the available teaching aids. The quality of learning is often reflected in the learners’ ability to conceptualize and deliver knowledge gained from learning. Selective choice of teaching materials enhances the effectiveness of learning. A well-designed curriculum prescribes the best type of teaching materials which have an overriding effect on the performance of learners. The genre and text structure used in reference books, for instance, determines the ability of learners to comprehend the context of the literature therein (Lipson & Wixson, 2013, 230). The use of complex text structure limits the comprehensive ability of 3rd-grade learners. 

Reading and writing are learning skills that are inherent in humans. At least, even in the elementary state of children, they bear the skills of reading and writing. The expression of these two abilities; however, is determined by the nature of the transition between learning materials (Lipson & Wixson, 2013, 233). The organization of texts should offer some level of prediction among learners to guarantee quality learning (Lipson & Wixson, 2013, 235)
An ideal curriculum should provide for the use of learning materials that enable learners to relate the new concepts with some pre-existing knowledge. In essence, the performance of learners is subjective to the system of learning to which they are exposed. It, however, is appreciable that while learners may be at the same academic level and subject to similar learning materials, a disparity exists in the ease with which the concepts are received. In the case of recognizable text complexity, the learners ought to be effectively guided (Lipson & Wixson, 2013, 264).
Different learners have diverse learning abilities; thus subjecting them to a similar curriculum is imperatively detrimental. Learners ought to be subjected to different curricula to encourage reading and writing. The curriculum prescribes the relevant teaching materials that are appropriate for learners at different stages of learning and with different learning abilities. Read More
