Enterprise Project Summary of the client and their business problem The BHS Company is challenged with developing its employability aspect in all of its business and management degree for undergraduates. The company’s project module at level 5 has considerably moved this agenda on. For the degree undergraduates, employability depends on the abilities, skills, and the knowledge they possess, and additionally to the way they present those assets to the BHS Company. Notably, employability is affected by factors of both the demand-side and the supply-side which often are outside of the degree undergraduates. Therefore, being a business problem for the BHS Company. The BHS business problem is because; employability is not just the undergraduates’ quality or the outcome of their education and training but also the characteristics of the conditions prevailing in the labor environment. The aim of the business enterprise is modeling the business environment to assist the management to make sound operational, tactical, and strategic decisions (Jussi, 1996). Behavior evaluation throughout the project When carrying out the enterprise project for the BHS Company, I had the role of design and researching in our team. According to Jussi (1996) the aim of the business enterprise is modeling the business environment to assist the management to make sound operational, tactical, and strategic decisions. In my role, I was required to produce a testable and an extendable social knowledge of the problem of employability aspect that the BHS Company is facing. The steps that I had to go through in design and researching include: first, formulating an idea of the employability problem research question. Secondly, I had to formulate a plan that involved figuring out where to find sources as well as how to approach them. Thirdly, I had to gather data in relation to the employability problem the BHS was facing. Fourth, I had to analyze the data that I had collected. Lastly, I had to examine the source of the data. My role on this project that was design and researching played well to my strengths. This was so because, as a hardworking person I efficiently worked well and quickly and I was good at organizing my work in the way that got the best result in design and researching the problem of employability aspect that the BHS was facing. Jussi (1996) stated that the enterprise project focuses on providing an integrated set of tools that are computer-based to progress of this lack of support that is recent. My problem-solving strength matched to the real problems and challenges that needed solutions. Due to it, as a team we approached solving the next problem confidently, feeling prepared, and fearlessly. Lastly, my strength in teamwork made it possible for us as a team to help each other, we shared ideas and reported our findings, and each of us was able to participate by contributing to the project, we questioned each other by interacting and discussing throughout the project. In regards to my contribution throughout the project, I believe that my team members would say that I gave them a verbal boost each time they tackled a problem that went outside their comfort zone. This is so because due to my problem-solving strength I was able to build on their strength. Additionally, due to my hard work and teamwork strength, they would say that I was accountable to my superiors and them by being responsible throughout the enterprise project. The UK’s major initiative is the enterprise project that promotes the use of systems that are knowledge-based in business modeling (Jussi, 1996). Evaluation of knowledge and skills developed As a result of the project, I was able to develop further my research skills. This was due to my role in design and researching so as to become a valuable researcher. The research skills that I have developed include becoming more information literate. Hence, I can now research effectively, and I have known how to use efficiently and effectively information technology in an enterprise project. We developed the business toolset to provide support that is suitable for obtaining the organization’s enterprise-wide view (Jussi, 1996). As a result of the project, the skills that I have been able to improve are my communication skills. Jussi (1996) implied that we require a mechanism of communication that is effective to obtain the integration of different kind of tools both old and new. I have taken the opportunity of working with the team to develop this skill so as to function successfully in the project. Not only this but also in the team I needed to be able to communicate clearly in emotional and intellectual manner. Additionally, I have also been able to improve my management and organization skills. These skills have now enabled me to know how to manage and plan a design and research task. Moreover, I can now manage time while working in a team, and also I can run a meeting. Through the project, I have been able to improve my level of confidence. I have been able to do so by first identifying my weakness that is I’m shy since sometimes I have an idea to share, but I just keep quiet. While carrying out the project with my team, I improved my level of confidence by using criticism from the group as a learning experience. I also thought of my mistakes as learning opportunities. When I completed the enterprise project task successfully, my confidence that I can achieve similar and the same tasks again increased. Determining the task that are ready to be carried out, advice can be given on the next step taking into account what has recently been completely recently (Jussi, 1996). Analysis of any skill gap With regards to being successful in my business career as a design and researcher in an enterprise project; the skills that I need to develop further entail. My ability to ask questions which are concise and cogent; I have to learn how to ask design and research findings. Additionally, I have to develop my ability to ask questions of data. Because, I know that the way data are collected affects their validity. Moreover, I need to develop skills of making arguments that are logical which are supported by data. Even more, I need to develop my ability to getting answers in an enterprise project. This implies that my experience in turning questions that are abstract into the hypothesis that are testable and particular will be very important. The taken approach during the throughout the enterprise project is proving to be suitable (Jussi, 1996). How to improve the module In order to improve the module and maximize my learning opportunity of being a valuable researcher while carrying out the enterprise project of the BHS Company. I would ensure that I have the right and proper qualities. This implies that as a valuable researcher I have to possess the desirable and proper qualities or properties so as to be successful in my researches while doing enterprise projects. The learning opportunity that I need to consider are the primary qualities of a valuable researcher such as intelligence, enough knowledge, curiosity, and initiative, and being good in oral as well as written communication. Enterprise has a lot of aspects that are appropriate for adding technologies coordination to sustain the group of individuals who contribute to a process that is common (Jussi, 1996).
