English Academic Writing Research Introduction The approach in which an individual tackles their learning situations and attain their knowledge is termed as learning style. Learning styles are referred as the different abilities of the people that help them in attaining reasoning skills on the basis of their observation and situation. Learning styles have been observed to vary from one individual to another on various aspects. In this regards Sabatova (2008, 17), defines learning styles as “the ways in which an individual characteristically acquires, retains and retrieves information”. This is observed to be majorly because of their psychological differences, personality traits as well as difference in the level of intelligence that defines the learning styles of the individual. On contrary, certain individual can even depict different attitudes of accepting the mixed approaches that are related with learning. Depending on the nature of learning, the learning styles are segregated majorly on four broad categories, which include activists, reflectors, theorists and pragmatists. The activist learning styles are followed by the people who like to learn from their experiences. The reflectors are people who like collecting information and do a prolonged analysis and finally based on those analysis draws their reflection. The pragmatist are on the other hand derives their learning from the different experiments they conduct to reach to their possible interpretations. Finally, the theorists are the ones who provide logical interceptions to the process of learning and rationale objective to their studies by following a disciplined approach. This segmentation is majorly dependent on the mode and type of learning undertaken by the students in the course of the acquiring knowledge (Plymouth University, 2014). The theorists are observed to be keen learners who observes the theories behind the actions and takes heed of the different models concepts and fact to justify their learning (Plymouth University, 2014). With this regard, the paper elaborates on the different learning styles that are prevalent among the learners. Elaborations on the different conceptual strategies adopted by the learners to support the mode of learning have been duly analysed. Finally, the paper elaborates on my learning style i.e. the theorist learning style. By identifying my learning style the paper even depicts about the different categorical requirement that helps in understanding the varied views of the theorists learning style. Discussion Activists Activists are people who learn from their actions. According Honey & Mumford (1992), activists are people who are involved with open minded learning and have been conducting continuous experiments to enhance the system of learning. Activist is the people who like taking active role while conducting the learning. Moreover, activists are often observed to be people who believe in learning after doing. For an activist the best method of learning is their experiences, which they gain from different fields and their daily experiences (Honey & Mumford 1992). Similarly, Jerling (1996) is of the notion that the activist like learning from their own innovative approaches towards problem solving and enjoys adapting with rapid changes. The activists are the people who are often attached with the new and innovative strategies that help in enhancing the competitive advantage of the practitioner (Jerling, 1996). Dawn et al. (2013), the regular involvement of the day to day tasks helps in developing their action towards a particular approach. They are the people who learn from errors and develop their skills from continuous testing and experimenting. These people who follow activist learning styles enjoy taking risks and develop their knowledge based on the different experiences they gain from the varied sectors of the society (Dawn et al., 2013). According to Honey & Mumford, (1992) the main features of the activist learning styles are observed to be brainstorming, role-play, problem solving and continuous risk taking. This feature helps the activist to continuously develop innovative and create plans that would help them gain a better approach towards the long term development of knowledge and enhance their competitive edge (Honey & Mumford, 1992). Reflector Honey & Mumford (1992) defines reflectors to be people who like collecting information from different people and do a detailed analysis of the collected information before drawing any conclusion out of it. Jerling (1996) is of the notion that the reflectors are a good observer who listens carefully and judge the facts so that they can draw effective conclusion. The reflectors usually conduct rigorous thinking and do adequate preparations before taking any decision. They take ample opportunities to review the collected information continuously to enhance the approach of the data and develop a podium to exchange their ideas along with views (Jerling, 1996). The reflectors judge all the necessary approaches and are even likely to postpone their conclusion if they cannot reach their goals and develop a better approach towards their study. These are the people who gain their interpretation from the moves and actions of the people and draw clarity of their approach (Honey & Mumford, 1992). The reflectors develop their learning skills from the different approaches and usually develop self-designed questionnaires, which help them gain their own interpretation from the different feedbacks that they collect on the basis of the same (Honey & Mumford, 1992). According to Dawn et al. (2013), the reflectors are the ones who develop a bigger picture by gasping the interpretation from the smaller pictures. Additionally, depending on their rigorous thinking the reflectors learns from the different options that can led to more than one conclusion and finally attain the inferences that they were searching for. By continuous sharing of information the reflectors gain better approaches and insights of their findings (Dawn et al., 2013). Pragmatist Pragmatist is the people who try out different ideas, technique and practices to develop their learning abilities. Honey & Mumford (1992), suggest that the pragmatist is people who effectively search for the positive ideas and apply them quickly into the system. This type of people is always filled with new ideas and approaches and problem solving techniques in new and innovative ways. This people are practical down to earth and ruminating to open ended discussion. Furnham et al. (1999), the pragmatist are students who make continuous researches and experiments with high predictability. People who are of this learning style are positively correlated and have a positive approach towards the development of their researches and appraisal. This people are usually extroverts and are open to discussion (Furnham et al., 1999). Similarly Jerling (1996), comments that the pragmatist are the people who develop a better approach towards learning by integrating logical thinking as well as implementing the same into action. They try and involve new ideas and develop a better approach of reasoning on the learning. These people provide a practical approach towards problem solving that enhances the quality of the approaches. With the integration of the theories and practices the pragmatist portrays a positive strength in the development of the clear goals. The pragmatist even portrays effective laboratory skills by developing the experimental approaches that leads to the development of wider views of knowledge (Dawn et al., 2013; Honey & Mumford, 1992). Moreover, Honey & Mumford (1992), comments that the features of the pragmatist learners are observed to be enhancing the approaches to their problem solving by analysing different case studies and. Theorist Honey & Mumford (1992) defines the theorist as people who integrates observations into complex theories and assimilate vertical steps towards logical reasoning. The theorists provide justification of each and every outcome depending on the proper findings of the previous researchers. By interpreting the different models and concepts, the theorist successfully interprets and develops a better approach towards my learning (Putintseva, 2006). Theorist learning style helps in understanding analytical approaches in a proper manner so that the learners could conceptualize their thoughts in a better and effective way (Niemiec, 2009). According to Honey & Mumford (1992), the features of the theorists learning skills are observed to be drawing their conclusions as well as their inceptions on the basis of their previous experiences. The theorists are observed to be conducting their knowledge accumulation on the basis of their analysis and logical abilities. Moreover, theorist learning styles involve the use of different theories and concepts to develop an approach towards their learning skills for better understanding (Beers, n.d.). Jerling (1996), theorists are logical, rationale and do perform their activities efficiently after proper analysis. The theorists integrate observations into theories and analyse as well as synthesize their data before coming to a decision. The large corpus of the empirical evidence that supports the theorists learning styles provides an effective development for learning abilities. Dawn et al., (2013), the theorist usually follows the procedure of the exploration theories and the analysis of the same that helps them gain a better insight towards the development of their knowledge. Theorists are organised that helps them in developing a better evaluation towards their work (Government of Alberta, 2014; Dawn et al., 2013). Reflection on My Learning Style With the use of the different learning abilities of the people learning styles are hugely segregated depending on the needs of the researchers. Similarly, I conceptualise the different pre-defined analysis to enhance my learning skills with the help of these theories. Moreover, I prefer to draw the interpretation of my analysis depending on the different models and statistical approaches on the basis of logical understanding. Therefore, I consider the theorist learning skills to be appropriate for developing my skills. Moreover, I have developed my personal learning skills depending on the logical inferences that have been providing clarity of the approach. I often find it easier to relate things logically enhance my approach in a better manner. The ease of learning could easily be developed by applying the practical approaches into the coherent theories that would help me develop a better assumption and enhance my approach towards the proper thinking system. Thinking logical and rational is important, and therefore the use of theorist learning style is helping me in developing my skills and abilities for a better future. This aspect would also help me in developing the logical and statistical approaches that would be enhancing my learning abilities and generate innovative ideas. Similarly, I consider this aspect to be vital for enhancing my learning process as I too take my past experiences and evidences into mind while taking any measures. This aspect makes me more rationale. Unlike the other practices, I can also relate myself with the theorist learning styles as it helps me in developing a better approach towards my learning ability. Being able to justify my learning with other researches I find it easy to relate my learning outcomes and enhance the ability of developing my meta-cognitive skills. In addition, this model based approach enhances my learning strategies and helps me developing clarity towards my approach of personal development. Moreover, it has been observed that by adapting the theorists learning styles has effectively initiated my analytical skills based on different principles and theories. These models help in developing a better approach towards the process of learning in the long run. The features of the ‘theorists’ model helps me in appreciating my learning abilities by developing a better approach towards learning. It is evidential that these model based theories helps me in creating a strong thought process keeping in few various other aspects, while making decisions. By continuous monitoring and developing theories, I have been enhancing my reasoning skill by developing a strategic plan. Moreover, the learning on the basis of different theories as well as the use of the different technologies and experiments helps in developing the basis of learning. This even helps in developing the skills of acquiring more knowledge and enhancing the knowledge base. Through rigorous learning abilities under the theorist perspective of learning style, I could effectively develop my personal skills of continuous learning. By the continuous revision and development of support from the different models as well as statistics would help in developing a better approach towards effective learning. It has also been observed that the theorist learner has been developing their learning styles based on the development of their assimilation of the different available information related with their study. This is again an important aspect that has helped me in developing a structured learning ability wherein, I can justify my actions and decisions. Through the analysis of the available theories the theorist learners develops their abilities of justification. Analyzing and methodological development of a particular approach helps me gain a better insight towards my assignment. By developing my analyzing abilities, I have been enhancing my interpersonal skills and developing a rational approach towards my personal development. Methodical and analytical approaches of the theorist learning styles have developed my abilities and enhanced my views towards achieving perfections at every aspect of life. Moreover, with clear defined objective, I have developed a goal orientation towards my learning abilities. This has redefined my vision towards the development of a clear objective and has filtered my efforts towards achieving my goals. I now due to the positive impact of the theorist learning consider various aspects before taking any decision. For instance, in any situation I analyse the scenario as per my best ability on the basis of various theories suggested by the theorist at large. So, that the decisions I make are rational, logical and help enhancing my learning skill ability. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that the theorist learning process has developed me in developing a strong interpersonal relationship with others and helped in becoming a better human. Contextually, this research based learning has enhanced my abilities and confidence to develop my personal skills. By discussion and continuous up gradation of my personal development I have been redefining my abilities to perform and gain a better approach towards achieving the goals. The rational approach has also helped me in nullifying the unnecessary observations that has been affecting the ease of my learning. With the help of observation and development of a report based approach, I have been nurturing my knowledge base and developing a better approach towards shaping my life. Moreover, these subjective approaches towards my learning abilities are developing my personal abilities in the long run. The mode of developing my learning abilities by means of participative learning has also enhanced my skills towards team building and developing interpersonal relationships. Team building is another significant aspect that requires an individual to be logical, rational and creative. In this regard, it can be stated that this learning style has also helped me developing my personal abilities to associate with different ideas and situations and enhance the ability to develop a better approach towards interpersonal relationship. On a larger note, the evidence based learning helps me in relating with the particular scenarios and enhance my approach towards any situation. Suggestively, the evidenced based learning practice helps me solve problems in a better and efficient way and hence helps me in developing my problem solving ability. Moreover, this also helps me in developing a better approach to my students needs and helps me support the personal development of my needs. The continued enquiry and the continuous process of learning help me generate a better approach towards my professional learning as well as student learning. The careful calibration of the different theories into my learning abilities has enhanced my personal skills and enhanced my personal approach towards knowledge development. This research based approaches has helped me in learning and enhancing the problem solving abilities for the long run. The theorists learning styles through the efficient support of the researches and studies has helped in developing my personal traits. For my personal development, I have been enhancing the level of my communication and interaction that in turn has assisted me in developing my personal abilities to communicate. By developing a reflective index I have excelled on my professional index and professional orientation. Through continuous and on-going process of learning, I have initiated goal orientation and enhanced my self-motivation in the long run. By accumulating the information from different sources and using those as a support to enhance my learning abilities have enriched my approach towards the effective development of my skill sets and enhanced my level of intelligence. Through the development of my thinking skills and enhancement of my decision making abilities, I have effectively integrated my personal knowledge in problem solving towards the modern day complexities. Effectively, I have also developed my confidence by enhancing the level of my knowledge and developing a goal oriented attitude. This evidence based learning has enriched my ability to generate ideas and ability of innovativeness (Furnham et al., 1999). Moreover, the conceptual approaches of the different theorists are observed to be focused and evident based. This helps me to draw interception from different approaches that are based on the experiment based learning and helps in developing a better approach towards the concept of learning. Unlike the other learning abilities I find it easier to relate evidences of my present study based on the evidence of the previous studies. The evidence based approaches has also enhanced my professionalism towards the problem solving techniques and has enhanced the appropriateness of my approach (Beers, n.d.). The continuous learning and development of my personal abilities has helped me scale new success and enhance the level of my aspiration to meet new goals and develop better knowledge. Evidently, the theorist process has also helped me attain success and develop my personality traits. This has helped me attain perfection and has enhanced my level of justification towards a particular view. The different statistical and theory based approaches has evolved my reasoning ability and has helped me create a better approach towards academic development. This evidence has also helped me rectify my mistakes and enhance appropriateness of my approach towards escalating my skill sets. People who are theorists follow a process of lifelong learning and enhance their ability to perform depending on the facts so that the professional development could be achieved through a process of continuous learning. Similarly, in this regard, Allan Mullally of Ford Motors believes in nurturing lifelong learning by developing his theorist approaches. Similarly, synchronous learning and adapting the same to develop an asynchronous learning approach is the best way to solve the daily problems that develops in the real-life and organisations. This combination of learning is only found among theorist who learns from the different theories and justifies their own approaches (Redmond et al., n.d.). Conclusion The development and identification of the learning skills have been observed to be effectively affecting the individual development of the students at the academic level. Moreover, it has been observed that the learning skills of the students have been affecting their work nature at the professional domain. The identification of the learning skills defines the ability of the student to develop a better approach towards professionalism and enhance the level of appropriateness. Contextually, development of the learning skills has helped in developing a collaborative approach towards the enhancement of the personal skill sets. This helps in developing a better approach towards the development of the commitments towards the learning environment. This helps in developing self-regulation and enhances an attitude to achieve goals. This even helps in developing an expertise to solve problems and make effective decision. Moreover, it demonstrates the ability to develop strategies and achieve goals. The development of the priorities helps in managing the information and enhances skills to achieve success. The development of learning skills helps in attaining success and enhances the development of the skill as well as knowledge with the help of theorists. The assessment of these ideas in a flexible way helps the student to integrate their self-confidence and effectively manage their intellectual as well as social development. These even enrich the personal development of the student and also develop an effective attitude towards positive decision making in future.
