Abbreviated Quantitative Research Plan Introduction Today’s research works, both conventional approaches i.e. quantitative and qualitative are used. This is because of the great scholar’s experience, where they conclude that use of any of these two conventional approaches, gives ambiguous and incomplete picture of the research work conducted at hand. The later form is usually done to construct an argument, which is used to drive unproven statements and respective queries. Moreover, these unproven statements used in research are tested via various methodologies and research designs (Malhotra, 2008). Most of the time the research process is commenced with reviewing and examining the previous researches which helps in finding out the problem or gap in the examined body of knowledge or previous researches. Then, a suitable description regarding the research problem identified is identified and developed. This process involves critical examination or reviewing of existing literature or previous researches related to the proposed research topic. Finally, unproven statements of previous research are investigated through use of various statistical techniques such as t test, z test, regression analysis or chi square etc (Malhotra, 2008). One of the researches states that there should be a proper balance should be found between the research approaches (Bryman, 1984). This means that both of the fundamental approaches i.e. qualitative and quantitative should be used to guarantee the validity of the research conducted. Moreover, an investigation in which only one approach (qualitative or quantitative) is used is regarded as a major hindrance in the validation and reliability of perfect research (Onwuegbuzie & Leech, 2005). According to Onwuegbuzie & Johnson (2004), the research approaches or methodologies used should be a blend of the two approaches because if only theoretical part of the research is reviewed (existing literature or researches), the outcome or the research may not be valid as the theories can be of the researchers claim and beliefs. However, use of quantitative techniques such as causal or experimental research, the outcome of the research will be more influencing and authentic. Thus, both quantitative and qualitative methods are complementary as they are independent of each other. Mixed Research Plan The proposed topic for this research project is “The influence of Emotional Intelligence on Work Performance of the Staff Teacher in High Schools”. The research plan’s description is stated below. This project will go through the following phases. Phase I – Idea Exploration This phase involves a tentative investigation in which focus group interviews are conducted of the target population of the research. Here, judgmental sampling is done which is, based on the respondent’s experiences. Furthermore, in this stage summarized importance of the proposed topic will also be highlighted including the gap which this research will cover and conclude. Phase II – Idea Description In this stage, the definition of the construct will be considered and previous or existing literature will be studied on the same topic. This would help to generate a research question and to draw hypotheses. Following are the research question and hypotheses Research Question What type of relationship exists between Emotional Intelligence and Work Performance of the teachers in high schools? Hypothesis Ho: There exists significant statistical relationship between emotional intelligence and work performance of the teachers in high school. Hi: There is no significant statistical relationship between emotional intelligence and work performance of the teachers in high school. Phase III – Hypotheses Testing This phase focuses on the testing of the hypotheses which are mentioned in preceding phase. For this test, an instrument is used developed by Psenicka & Rahim (2002) and Gana, Bukar, & Kadai, (2011) which will measure the relationship between emotional intelligence and work performance. Here, simple random sampling is done to choose sample from the target population. Questionnaires will be filled by the sample respondents. Later, Cronbach Alpha will be employed to find out the reliability of the instrument. Moreover, to highlight the intended relationship, linear regression analysis will be employed. Introduction and Problem Statement It is imperative to make certain that the information collected for a specific study is of high integrity and quality. Different studies incorporate different ways of gathering data. The methodology chosen for a research should be in synchronization with the collected data. Therefore, it is expected that a researcher should collect appropriate information regarding the type of study undertaken and the required type of data collection methodology. It initiates from sample selection to a specific data collection methodology, like surveying (Weimmer, 1995). Morover, it is essential to determine whether the data required is qualitative or quantitative (Weller, 1988). The modern day investigations seem to determine the conclusions and data gathering method for a study utilizing the most usual method. The sync between the data gathering procedures and the objective of the study undertaken is essential for the validity of the results. Research Objectives The study undertaken involves the examination of connection between the date collection method chosen, the method chosen for analysis and the validity of the conclusions (Shadish, Cook & Campbell, 2002). In order to fulfill the aims of the research following questions have been proposed to be explored by the study undertaken. RQ 1: How a particular data collection methodology impacts the reliability and validity of outcomes of a study? RQ 2: How does a particular data analysis procedure impacts the reliability and validity of outcomes of a study? Hypothesis In order to investigate the above declared research questions, following hypotheses are framed. H 1: There exists a significant direct relationship between the reliability and validity of outcomes of a study and the information gathering methodology applied in that study. H2: There exists a significant direct relationship between the reliability and validity of outcomes of a study and the information analyzing methodology applied in that study. Research Design To answer the questions and testing of above mentioned hypotheses, quantitative study design will be employed, instead of employing the mixed or qualitative method. The selection of the research design is based on the criteria that the study will involve primary data collection and the results will be drawn on the basis of people opinion. For this purpose the opinion will be inquired from people having extensive knowledge of this field, thus constituting our sample. The variables under consideration include reliability and validity of outcomes, the data gathering methodology and the data analyzing procedure. Utilizing self administered questionnaires, the given variables will be analyzed. A stratified sampling methodology will be employed to ensure the respondents are from varied locations. The qualified people from all the selected locations will constitute the sample size. For quick and effective data collection, modern technology like laptops and external drives will be used as a data storing media. The proposed research questions and the hypotheses drawn intend to set up the association between the selected research variables (Creswell, 2008). This methodology will aid in the exploring of the research objectives and determining the relationship between the variables chosen for the study undertaken (Shadish, Cook & Campbell, 2002). Research plan According to the phenomenological perspective, a particular research design is produced on a reflective model from the current online university provided education framework. They theory forming the basis of this research proposal will be examined and a thorough literature survey will be conducted to get a better idea of the subject, and serving the requirements of the reliability and quality of data. This serves as the foundation upon which the investigator is able to emphasize the action, integration or open process due to the education concept. The Quality Health Care (QHC) usage suggests that it is necessary for the educational development and training to assist in the improvement of aptitude from the family care point of view to grasp the necessity for providing quality services in the healthcare and to ensure subscription to insurance policies for this sector (Shadish, Cook & Campbell, 2002). The strategy adopted by the researcher is to maintain individual development theory, intended towards encouraging community and providing a change in the leadership. The idea to judge and devise ways to approve contemporary development strategies to bring about values intended at scheduling the change in community, culture and workforce for the promotion of skills by people to alleviate the problems faced by the health care sector (Handout, 2011). Predominantly change is indispensable so that the present boundaries meet the specified population’s geographically dispersed nature being considered. The objective of the investigator is also to present evidence that qualitative methodology will support both ethical and reliability considerations regarding research like confidentiality and accuracy (Stone, 2011). The research plan designed in a qualitative way is quite important mostly in line of developing leadership perspectives and their effectiveness concerning awareness creation due to the education provided to the diverse population (Shadish, Cook & Campbell, 2002). Such understanding is developed to make certain that the residents are conscious of health care and the matter surrounding the issues like the access, cost and quality of the health care services. Educating the population will help in the creation of awareness regarding the other opportunities provided by organizations that rotate around the donors and the communities, inter agencies, other international organizations and the work sites (Stone, 2011).
