Achievement Gap Insert Insert Achievement Gap Achievement gap is the existence of a vacuum between the current performance level andthe expectation level of performance that the students need to attain. However, there are many factors that are preventing the students fro achieving their set goals (Miller). Therefore, the students as well as the management need to work on the performance gap in order to attain the set objectives.Reflections on the reasons why achievement gap persistsThere are factors that contribute to the existence of performance Gaps in an organization (Rothstein).

However, the management has come up with techniques to reduce the performance gap. Among the reasons why there is persistence of the gap include the following issues;Large class size as one of the factors that contribute to the persistence of the achievement gap (Taylor). I have realized that because the ratio of students to teachers is not equal and, therefore, all pupils will not get full attention from their teacher. In the analysis of literature, it is evident that there are factors that relate to the students ability in school (Paige and Witty) according to reading I have used.

For instance, the student might be lacking interest in school, or they are totally not putting in much effort to boost their achievement. In addition, Poor teacher preparation as well as low expectations of students is also some of the factors that contribute to the persistence of the success gap in an institution according to Chubb and Loveless. If the teacher is not going to plan the lessons in a way that the students can easily comprehend. With respect to realization of the concepts of the gap, I realize that there will be a significant achievement gap that will give both students and the teachers a hard time to settle.

Recommendations to reduce the achievement gapIn order for the achievement gap to reduce, the management should ensure that they provide a conducive environment for learning. Moreover, the teachers should also work together with students towards their set objectives in order to reduce the performance gap.ReferencesChubb, J., & Loveless, T. (2002).
