By embracing the inquiry-based concept of education, students are in a position to not only easily comprehend what is taught in class but they also become creative and more knowledgeable (Freire 1). It is therefore evident that inquiry based education is better than the banking mode, this is because students tend to gain more knowledge, overcome authoritarianism and hence succeed in life.
To begin with, when I was in high school back in China, my school had very strict measures unlike what I experienced when I moved to US for my further education. Unlike the US education, in China students are normally required to study for 15 hours on a daily basis in addition to being loaded with assignments to do them from home and submit them the following day. Although in China we are very good when it comes to exams, it is the exact opposite when doing laboratory tests. In China, one was termed a loser if he or she scored less than 85% in the exams. This is because unlike in the US where students conduct lab tests during chemistry lessons, In China we never had lab classes. This is because teachers never saw the need for wasting time in the lab instead of just memorizing all the procedures from class. In my opinion, comparing the mode of teaching in China and the US, United States method is far much better because students are not allowed to memorize for the sake of passing exams, instead they do their own research and come up with results that are then discussed in class.
In addition, according to my opinion, the banking mode of education should be abolished in learning institutions and in its place be replaced with the inquiry-based concept of education. The banking concept never allow student to do in-depth research. for instance, if the teacher says that the multiple of two and two is equal to four, these students will only memorize this statement and deposit it without even
