Activity Plan: Pre-requisite knowledge: For this activity, require some level of physical health is required. As such, students with a history of asthma will be given special consideration. This activity focuses on previously learnt themes such as tolerance.
Key terms and Vocabulary:
Team work
Partner
Long Term Objectives:
The students will learn how to accommodate individual differences between them and others in society.
The students will learn the value of tolerance especially under pressure (this objective has a long term target of peer pressure and societal pressure but this activity will concentrate on competitive pressure).
The students will learn to respect the contribution of each member of society despite their skin color or status in society.
Activity Description:
Students will carry out a physical activity in groups in the form of an obstacle race. The students will be divided into groups of four that will further be split into two. Each pair of students will stand at the end of a one hundred meters track stretch. Along the track, there will be minor obstacles such as ankle length huddles, tires and a simple block puzzle. One student leads another blind folded student through the obstacles to the end of the track where they will “tap you are it” the other half of the team and they will go through the same process. . The students, in their respective groups, will carry out the obstacle race activity under strict supervision. It is imperative that the gym instructor is present. Also, the winning team will get small gifts like “cool” pens.
Activity Rationale:
The concept here is to provide a fun way to explore the importance of meaningful interpersonal relationships. The blind fold is crucial to introduce the aspect of human dependence. The students, within the groups, will comprise of different genders, race and ethnic background; the aim is to show that human cooperation goes beyond societal prejudices. The obstacles will make the activity more challenging and competitive. This activity is a break from other activities such as watching films that have graphic scenes of acts of intolerance in society such as racial prejudice. Also, the aspect of fairness will be brought out as the gym instructor and I oversee the activity to ensure that the winner is legitimate.
Materials:
Students should dress in appropriate sports attire
Puzzle blocks
Gym training tires
Blind folds
Activity Beginning:
Good morning class? Please confirm that your attire is well won, fitting and shoe laces are well tied to avoid any accidents. In previous lessons, the subject of tolerance and meaningful human interactions has concentrated on books with literature on heroes such as… (The students should then raise their hands to give relevant examples). However, this class needs a practical example on how to set aside differences and work as one human entity.
Activity Middle:
I will divide the students into groups of four, two girls and two boys (it will not be evident to the students that the groups are heterogeneous in terms of race and ethnicity). Within the group, the students will further split into two. Each pair of students will stand at opposite ends of the 100 meter race track. One student from each pair will be blindfolded and the un-blindfolded student will lead them through the obstacles (huddles, jumping through tires, and finally arranging a block puzzle) to the end of the race track. The fastest team to complete these activities wins.
Activity Closing:
Seeing as this is a fast moving activity ample time will be left for the students to discuss what they have learnt from the activity. This will be done while the students are still on the race track to capture their ideas while they are fresh. Finally, there will be a follow up activity in the form of homework with the topic “discuss the disadvantages of holding on to individual differences such as race, sex and social status to human development”.

... Weak 7 Discussion Questions In order to adequately explain problem we must first infer that the in question is asking concerning which particular model of Volkswagen. For instance, the new Volkswagen Beetle has an interior volume of approximately 85 cubic feet (or approximately 2.40 cubic meters). That being understood, the next logical progression would be to make a wide inference as to the average height size and weight of the students which would be transported. Assuming that the standard student weighs 60 kilograms and occupies a volume of approximately .06 m^3, our inquisitive car owner can safely assume that he/she can (at least for a very brief period of time) pack approximately 20 students into his/her Volkswagen. The number...

You have expressed that we need to determine the length and width of the seats in the vw to estimate the number of students that can fit in it with the doors closed. While you have said that some students can be seated in others’ laps, you have missed out the space where there are no seats but some students can fit there. ... There are many factors that can make innovation fail, and one such factor is failure to appreciate the main objective of the innovation, and link it with the strategy of the company. This creates a disconnection between the goals of the company, and that of the innovation. This is because the innovative product created will not reflect the goals of the organization. A good case study is the failure of Nortel Telecommunications Company to develop an innovative product that reflects its goals and objectives (Shehabuddeen, 2007). In 2005, Nortel Telecommunication, under Mike Zafirovski embarked on an innovative transformation of the company by revamping its Research and Development department, and experimenting with the emerging... ...Week 7-Discussion At the kindergarten level, children require attentive instruction from their teachers in order for them to develop early literacy skills such as reading and writing. The latter, proves more challenging for both kindergarten students and their teachers because it requires a student to demonstrate competence in phonemic awareness, presence of fine motor skills (using fingers to hold writing tools), and the ability to concentrate and generate ideas for writing. Therefore, teachers must recognize the writing skill level of each student in order to design activities that best suits their unique needs (Benson, 2004). Moreover, the process of teaching writing skills to kindergarten students is not random or haphazard; instead...

Gender Pay Gap: A Discussion

The Gender Pay Gap is demonstrated by the fact that it is a consistent and widely observed phenomenon that women earn less than men (Becker, 1957/1985; Bergmann, 1974). Aside from this, there has been sufficient evidence that this form of wage discrimination exists in many cases for no other objective reason other than gender. This is proven by many examples of employers giving higher wages to men with the same position or qualifications as women.

Many academic and workplace studies have attempted to explain why this gap exists because such forms of discriminatory wage practices are a form of inefficient allocation of economic resources (Wharton, 2006; Blau & Kahn, 1992).

Since wages reflect the economic...

In 2006, the IASB issued a two-part discussion paper in its invitation to comment on fair value measurement. In introducing the said discussion paper, Sir David Tweedie, the IASB Cha...

Knowing this, the text in question is a written religious discourse taken from Genesis Chapter 7, The Old Testament. The language used in this text is meshed with metaphors...
