room Meeting Script On September 19, I sat in on a room meeting of a sixth grade The meeting took place at 30 PM and was held in their homeroom classroom. The meeting was spearheaded by the class president and the topic for discussion was their planned unofficial class trip to the local zoo and amusement park on September 29.
The class president took charge of the meeting and set a motion for the ground rules for the orderly conducting of the meeting. First of all, she suggested that each person would have his turn to speak via roll call in order to speak their minds. Any interruptions to the current speaker would be done by a simple hand raise. The class put the motion of the class president to a vote an unanimously passed the motion.
It was decided that the class would meet at the local hamburger joint at 10 AM on Sunday morning and carpool along with 6 parents who had minivans in order to get the the zoo. The six parents would also serve as chaperones for the groups whose members would be determined on the day itself by drawing lots. The same car pool would be followed on the way home. After all motions and objections were put to a vote, the meeting adjourned and the class went on to their next class for the day. Read More

... Visual Arts and Film Studies   June Script Adaptation The first scene may begin with the protagonist’s (Bridget) monologue. She is a young slim girl, who is not satisfied with her life. There is no smile on her face. It is not very difficult to read pain and confusion on girl’s face and in her behavior. Bridget is going here and there along the scene. There are practically no lights on the stage. Everything is in green colours. This is a symbol of girl’s young age and inexperience. The protagonist sighs and says that everything is the same every day. Nothing new happens in her life. She gesticulates very actively and addresses the audience. Her eyes are constantly moving as if the girl is asking someone from the audience to help her...

The Constructivist Approach to Teaching Science in the Primary Classroom

When students learn science, they construct meanings and develop understandings in a social context, state Duit & Treagust (1998: 4). Because teacher questions are a frequent component of classroom talk, they play an important role in determining the nature of discourse during science instruction. The cognitive processes that students engage in, as they undertake the process of constructing scientific knowledge, to a large extent depend on the kinds of questions that teachers ask and their way of asking the questions.

Chin (2007: 816) conducted a study to investigate questioning-bas...

Meeting the Economical Targets: Utopian Way

...Meeting The Economical Targets: Utopian Way        The Utopia, as the word suggests, is a concept or feeling of optimism and actually an unrealistic outlook, which depicts perfection in everything. This is concept adeptly explicated by Sir Thomas More in his book: The Utopia. Here he describes an imaginary society or community where the socio-economic and political scenario works in a seemingly perfect state. This fictional territory lies somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. This approach is largely based on the Platonic concept depicted in his work: Republic. It is a vision encompassing all the beauties that can dominate the society by removing the miseries and every evil associated. Eventually it will bring out an optimum well being...

Meeting the Challenges of Global Terrorism

According to a write-up by the state department of the USA, there is no single definition for terrorism that has been accepted or which explains what exactly terrorism is (Wardlaw, 1990, p.6). The research on a precise universal definition has posed challenges to both practitioners and researchers. Although many attempts have been done to define this global problem, no consensuses have been reached. The fact that the name terrorism is being used to any violent act makes it very challenging to offer a clear definition that will separate normal violent acts from terrorism. The term terrorism is a fad word that nobody can put limits on.
