...and this would be my responsibility now. My adversity was the fact that my husband divorced me. I was feeling angry and hurt and I was yelling at my children which would upset them. My belief was that I was a bad wife and this made me question how I was as a parent. The consequence of this feeling was that I felt depressed and anxious at ties. My disputation came during the situation. I realized that I was a good mother and that I had been a good wife; my husband and I just could not live together anymore. Kady (2006) suggests that being an optimist is important because it seems to make people more alert, they seem to be more engaged in life and they are more active and enthusiastic.
