Personal Experiences (to be inserted within the journals) Beyond Reflective Practice (to be inserted in the first paragraph) Based on my personal experience, sharing of information should always be appreciated in terms of finding out what benefits could be deduced from them. When I interact with colleagues and friends, there are exchanges in lessons learned from a book that was read, or from an interpersonal relationship, or even from viewing a television show which, when reflected upon, provides valuable insights that can be imparted to children and enhance their potentials for learning.

Becoming ‘real’ Aboriginal teachers (to be inserted after the third paragraph) I remember that a friend of mine relayed an experience of interacting with a person from another culture or ethnic orientation. She observed that both of their verbal and nonverbal communication cues and patterns were restrained as if each was trying to gauge the way one would respond to messages relayed. By encountering someone from another culture, she indicated that there is this feeling of uneasiness due to the unfamiliarity to the culture, per se, or the way one is expected to react.

This validates and supports the experiences relayed by Aboriginal teachers. Reflection on “Our teachers want to be the best” (to be inserted in the paragraph under number 3) The personal experience with friends reveal that sometimes, I have tendencies to pry on the details of their private lives, with no intentions to pry but to be the best friend who could offer whatever support or assistance is needed. The thin line between breaching privacy and confidentiality should therefore be recognized as part of ethical issues that could impinge on my relationships with students or colleagues in the future.
