Early Childhood Education Definition Child care: It is a broad topic covering a wide spectrum of contexts, activities, social and cultural conventions and involves institutions also in the form of Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Nursery schools. It is an act of caring for and supervising minor children especially kids.Nursery School: It is a school for children between the ages of three and five. It encompass qualified and trained staff of teachers and caretakers. It is place where encouragement and supervision is provided to the child in totally homely atmosphere.

It promotes educational play as compared to providing simply child care. It is a part of early childhood education and training. It provides an orientation to the child as the child is admitted here in the formative years.Pre-Kindergarten: It is often used in conjunction with the day care or child care. In the early childhood settings. Here child is given a formal academic training and provide focus on skill building, socializing activities. In these institutions activity based learning is provided so as to encourage social, physical, emotional and cognitive development.

It is also called as preschool.Biggest Challenge: Now-a-days competition is becoming cut-throat and there is always a comparison among the parents about the capabilities of their child. This goes between the siblings also. Such comparisons can either de-motivate the child who is less counted and can encourage the morals of the child who is appreciated. It is a biggest challenge to make reforms in such attitude so as to provide encouragement to the budding potentials of the child, as every child counts.

Results from NICHD SECCYD and SWEEP studies: The number of classrooms is maximum in SECCYD as compared to others. More emphasis is laid on the literacy/ language arts and on math in first grade as compared to other categories. In public preschool more time is devoted for science and social studies as compared to other categories. The noninstructional time is more in public preschool as compared to kindergarten, it is justified also as these young kids need more time for relaxation and transition from one phase to another whereas the first and third graders are already trained in their initial years so they do not require much transition time and therefore they are cognitively involved in the large/whole group.

This noninstructional time is adjusted in higher grades in studies related to math and science. Learning opportunities: with the increasing facilities and audio-visual aids, children enjoy learning and they easily grasp things which otherwise could be difficult. Music plays a very imperative role in making the learning easy and fun filled.Assessment of teachers: Teachers are constantly being assessed for their involvement and aptitude towards handling children and their ability to cope with the problem some children encounter.

It is a very important role they are playing in the life of the child. They can mold the lives of kids in appropriate direction with their motherly touch and loving temperament they can easily be friends with the children. It is very essential that child must be willing to go to the school for this constant communication between the child-parent-teacher must be formulated. A child may be different in front of parents than in school. A teacher is a real judge of the child's personality and interest and in conjunction with the parents and their consent can shape the future of the child in the right direction.

The role of the teacher is therefore very vital to make the child learn in a friendly and yet under discipline and to help the child speak effectively in presence of others depicting mannerism, God fearing nature and culture of civilized society. Therefore transition and assessment of the teacher is essential for the overall development of the child.
