Personal Statement
Climbing the stairs of education, standing on the step of Biochemistry as an undergraduate I had already brought with me, the dream of being a pediatric dentist so I ended in the passion of obtaining Doctorate Degree in dentistry. To achieve my goal, I utilized all my dedication and fortitude.
Sometimes I had to struggle hard enough in difficult and challenging situations but I managed to keep my GPA up by working day and night, putting all my efforts, doing as hard as I could and my improvement in GPA’s showed that hard work pays! Side by side I gained a lot of will power and with every difficulty emerged a new experience. Inclined; to be an asset to any university, I would always do the best. So with all my efforts I had a happy ending of my graduation with GPA 3.88.
Trailing through path of knowledge, being a competent person I grabbed the awards and honors of AP Statistics (Exam Score, 5), I had also been in Kentucky All-State SSA Choir, and had the honor of being an active member of The Regional Science Fair. Successfully secured the position of officer at Chemistry Club (allows senior executives to express their views and make relations in an environment that is biased).
With efforts towards studies I had not forgotten the community services and served at The Louisville Saehan Church which uncovered my leadership qualities so in the leadership terms I had the honor of being President of church youth group. I gave my time and commitment to Louisville Korean School and taught Math. This gave me the experience of teaching and handling juniors. NHS/Beta Club and other services at various locations were also given by me. With the consent of time I managed to work as a volunteer at University of Louisville Hospital which increased my interest in The field and gave me a better understanding of my career making my path towards dentistry clearer, I continued with my principles, my base; set on Religion, Family and Friends that has shaped me as a person of my own kind.
On the skateboard of life my road of experience was enlightened by my extracurricular activities too which includes Math Team, Choir, Ballard Animal Relief Club and others like National Honor Society, a society that honors Students who gain excellence in different walks of life. Mu Alpha Theta had been a great experience in the field of Math. Japanese Club and Beta Club offered me technological advantages and encouraged me for service involvement. As circumstances favored me I enjoyed being a part of Chemistry Club. Being member of International Club made me benefit from international and cultural familiarity with educational, social and outdoor events and I remained busy in efforts to help community.
I don’t need to mention how University of California outshines many others therefore my interest in attending is not surprising. I can see myself; touch the top stair of success with your undeniably excellent Teaching assistance. Looking forward to be grateful to you by being a part of your institute.

...LETTER OF INTENT Dear Selection Committee, My name is Ee Lin Lim and I want to be a counselor. It is the one career I can see myself working in: I would like to be a happy, successful and prominent counselor. My interest lies in the area of parenting and child development – especially in the area of social developmental problems in children. I believe that the foundation of a well constructed society is laid at home. I come from a dysfunctional past myself, and from my own experience I have found that it is difficult to form an acceptance of what cannot be changed. It is even more difficult to find the right guidance required to move towards that acceptance. In this light, admission into McGill’s Counseling Psychology program...

Tomography of the Lithosphere in Southern California

The geologic structure of Southern California is closely tied to the convergent boundary between two lithospheric plates.
In fact, Southern California spreads out on the boundary between two pieces of the lithosphere, the North America Plate and the Pacific Plate. The generally northward movement of the Pacific Plate against the North America Plate along the San Andreas Fault is the main cause of all earthquakes happening in the region /Hauksson, 1989/. Besides, the tectonic collision between these two plates causes large masses of rock to break, bend, and travel according to the immense forces.
The boundary between these two converging plates is the San Andreas Fault Zone is approximately one hundred kilometers wide and...

The Causes of Plagiarism and Strategies to Prevent It in a University Environment

There is another aspect of practicing plagiarism, which has been discussed by Edward M. White. He has seen the problem of plagiarism from a different angle in his “opinion” article in Chronicle of Higher Education, “Student Plagiarism as an Institutional and Social Issue”. He has raised the issue of “Research Assistance” provided by advertisers, “Thousand of papers in stock, available for any course”, pointing to the problem of not only graded students papers going out of the office for resurfacing in future but the immoral practice of taking outside sources help to complete the assignments, which, according to the writer, needs to be fixed. This trend of plagiarism has degraded lear...

The Chumash California Indians

He previously referred to Indians as “dull, stupid people, of the ordinary stature and far from comely.” After he saw and observed the Chumash, however, he remarked that they seemed to be “a race of people quite distinct from the other aboriginals of the country” (Rawls 47). Today, the Chumash Indians have dwindled in number, many of whom live in a reservation in Santa Ynez. The Chumash are trying to remember their past by keeping Chumash traditions but their growing susceptibility to a fast-changing world can barely be kept with the trappings of modernity, like a casino resort, right in the middle of their community.

The Chumash, also known as the Santa Barbara Indians, originally established th...

In general, an EMS includes the organizational structure, strategic planning, and the implementation procedures of an environmental policy that are integrated as part of the activities of the organization. The essay discusses in length the approaches used to implement an Environmental Management System and how it would be applied to a university in the UK.
Environmental management systems are widely adopted by most organizations since they offer a number of direct benefits. First, an EMS helps an organization achieve real cost savings through direct efficiencies in water, energy, purchasing, waste, and transport (Sullivan & Wyndham, 2007, p. 17).
