He has also coauthored some three textbooks on his favorite subject matter, books that have gone on to even sixth editions of publication and even been translated in Korean and Chinese. His first publication was in the year 1982 just after completing his PhD where together with Hansen R they published “Guidelines for writing gloss notations with a focus on comprehension skills and strategies”in the American Reading Forum Journal while his latest publication is in 2013. He has just published an article titled “Talk, write and read: a method for sampling emergent literacy skills” in the Reading Teacher Journal. Dr. Donald Richgels interests have always focused on preschool and kindergarten children. He believes that supporting young readers and writers is a vital resource for teachers dealing with children right from birth to about eight. Literacy beginnings offer an integratedapproach to reading and writing instructions aimed at the five typical stages through which children undergo. Most of the articles that Dr. Richgels has published have been the result of studies that he and his colleagues have conducted with the use of observational case studies, literature reviews and many years’ experience in working extensively with teachers of preschoolers and kindergarten students. A lot of his research has therefore concentrated on looking at tried and tested methods of effectively imparting reading, speech and knowledge skills on children from an early age, as a basis for their learning experience in the latter years of their life. He has progressively continued to dig deeper into the learning child’s mental development with incisive and insightful examination and re-examination of their learning methods, with a keen eye on what works best, what is most effective and what teachers can pick and learn from them. Dr. Richgels has basically concentrated on the narrow focus on learning methodologies for the young learners and through the years, built up an arsenal of impressive hands on research that has a great of deal of practical application in this highly specialized subject matter. Over the years his interest and research has grown from the pre-school years to the early schooling years and has been focused on the incremental development of the child’s learning abilities and the different impacts that various teaching methods, styles and approaches have on children’s mental and academic upbringing. Dr. Richgels co-authored the highly acclaimed and widely used text-book on the development of literacy and learning for children from birth to age eight, following the five typical stages of development that all children normally go through. The book has a student-cent red and constructive theory and practice while at the same time emphasizing the need for a direct, systematic and assessment driven instruction. The book, now in its sixth edition, is very specifically focused on equipping teachers of pre-school and kindergarten instructors on tried and tested techniques and methods for not only imparting literacy skills but also effectively evaluating the impact and success of the entire process (McGee & Richgels, 2011). In his early studies, Donald Richgels was more concerned with how children make ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

...?A Christmas Carol Social criticism is an important responsibility undertaken by the world renowned especially the novelists. Within this context, Charles Dickens’ novella named as A Christmas Carol deals with the social, historical and cultural features of England during the Victorian Period. While portraying the characters, Dickens employs creativity within the scenario of linguistics. In the novella, Dickens’ tone of writing changes from unhappiness to happiness. Joyce Carol Oates

...Joyce Carol Oates The change Born in 1938, Joyce’s writing was evident even at the age of 15 when her first novel was rejected due to its ‘dark’ wayof characterizing things. Joyce’s style appeared to be extraordinarily unfamiliar, and her gates of writing opened further after completing a master’s program at Wisconsin University. Her work showed a lot of creativity, and this showed the perfect relationship between humans, and also showing better approach to humankind in terms of rape, murder and mysterious existence. It is witnessed in Tucson case that the story is showing us the very unfamiliar life of a girl, which surrounds a life hidden under the pillow. These provide the evidence that psychologically brings about killer sin...

Dracula by Carol Senf

... The Unseen Dracula In Carol Senf’s “Dracula: The Unseen Face in the Mirror,” the argues that anexamination of Bram Stoker’s narrative technique reveals a number of similarities between the ‘good’ characters of the book and the ‘evil’ of Dracula. Senf begins her argument by refuting what most people think they know about the novel based upon the movies. She points out that most of the action in the novel does not take place in the romanticized Transylvanian castles and countryside of the films, but instead takes place within the streets and sights of nineteenth century London. In addition, Senf illustrates how the narrative style, pieced together through the common literature of the everyday – newspaper clippings, journal entries...

Where are you going, where are you from - Joyce Carol Oats

...In “Where are you Going, Where are you from,” Joyce Carol Oates tells us a disturbing story that involves an unknown stranger who apparently has supernatural powers. What I thought was most interesting about the story was the way in which Connie reacted to Arnold Friend, and the way in which she interacted with her mother. Connie seems to have a strained relationship with her mother, since she is always being told that she’s full of herself and that she should be more like her sister. But at the same time, there seems to be a sort of bond between the two of them, like her mother used to be the same was once and understands what she is going through, and that Connie somehow knows this and so there’s that different level... “Where are you...

... A CHRISTMAS CAROL: HOW THE NOVEL CRITICIZES THE GREED /SELFISHNESS OF THE VICTORIAN SOCIETY An assessmentof the Victorian Society, A Christmas Carol is an amazing novel by Charles Dickens who openly expresses to the readers the wrongs of the Victorian Society; lack of Christian values, discrimination, capitalism, hatred, lust and greed. The novel is based t the Christmas time, as it is meant to be an occasion of happiness, love and generosity to the people, especially to those who are not as fortunate as others. The novel focuses on the ill mannered and bad tempered character of Ebenezer Scrooge who later in the novel transforms into a loving, kind and generous old man. Feminist Ethics (CAROL GILLIGAN)

... Analysis of “Moral Orientation and Moral Development” by Carol Gilligan The points raised by Carol Gilligan in her work “Moral Orientation and Moral Development” remind me of the essence of understanding perspectives and creating sound judgments after thoughts which I believe must be carefully devoted to thorough learning of orientations unique to distinct individuals. On this ground, there exists sufficient basis to acknowledge that every human being is truly entitled to a personal statement or claim which necessarily differs from that of another in terms of origin and application. So it is normal to encounter people with strangely different views considering the diversity in socio-cultural factors acquired from the environment... Analysis...

Rape, a Love Story by Joyce Carol Oates

... Rape: A Love Story Exacting revenge in the aftermath of a rape case is justified action according to Oates’s story Rape, A Love Story. This is because it counters the insensitivity of the justice system that usually fails to help rape victims such as Teena Maguire who is gang raped in the presence of her 12-year old daughter, Bethie. The essay, thus, will demonstrate the guilt that haunts Droomor for the murders of the suspected rapists. Rape, A Love Story by Joyce Carol Oates is a beautiful novella that elevates the status of her protagonist, Teena Maguire, to a heroine. The brutal rape of Teena by gang of men implicates two men namely Lloyd Pick, Marvyn Pick, and Fritz Haaber. This shocking incident occurs in the presence of Bethie...
