Question and 2 Part The value of this assignment is of to help Anna to see the level to which her are progressing throughout thecourse of the year and to help to provide a level of comparison and contrast between other groups of students within her own region. Depending on the goals that the school has and the ways in which they intend to use this information to engage the students on the areas that they could stand to improve upon, Anna may need to contact individual parents and/or caretakers of the affected students as a way of formulating a plan to improve the needed areas (Karasakaloglu 2012). Part 2 Question 1 and 2: One of the ways that Anna could seek to sort the data would be to exlude certain data sets from the information that is presented on the screen. Although it is helpful to have a large list of data from which to draw, in order for her to focus in on the problem areas and seek to find key ways in which to target improvement, it may be necessary to only focus upon one group at a time in order to accomplish this (Hu et al 2012). Further, the end goal is to seek to derive a level of specialized answers to seek to benefit those students that are within each of the 3 groups which the study notes: average, above average, and below average. Part 3 Question 1, 2 and 3: One of the main underlying problem is the fact that the level of detail that is given to Anna is not to the level she requires in order to make an informed decision with regards to what should be changed. Moreover, a better dataset would include detailed information on what students were having difficulties and in what areas. Similarly, with regards to another key underlying problem that was at least alluded to could be partly to do with the curriculum that is provided as the key areas of difficulty and failure are not specifically spoken to within the context of the provided curriculum. Lastly, Anna can utilize these results as a key way in which to hone in on the ways in which certain information that is required for their education has not been explained well or absorbed. Rather than ascribing blame for this, Anna can seek to focus in on the key areas that the need is found and work to gain the required information on precisely what students need help in what areas. Part 4 Questions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Firstly, with regards to coaching Anna, it is necessary to point out the fact that even though some of the test scores that she received back from the district were less than satisfactory, there were key elements of the scores themselves that were above satisfactory and she should be congratulated based upon that. Secondly, a key way for Anna to gather key evidence before the next district benchmark would be for her to take a careful note of the ways in which learning objectives are occurring on a daily basis. This can be performed by means of keeping a journal of sorts and making a record of the ways in which she engages her students with key information and learning strategies. Thirdly, in questioning her students, Anna should seek to gain a level of information regarding what key areas of the learning process they may be having a bit of difficulty with. One way of doing this is to question even those students that are performing well and ask which of the key problem areas gives them the most difficulty and why. With regards to the most important information that Anna can garner from her teammates meeting, she can hope to compare the information that she has gathered as well as seek to learn from the advice of teachers who have gone through similar trials and difficulties in the past with meeting standards and guiding their classrooms to success (Winters et al 2012). Lastly, the assessment process itself is as much an opportunity for Anna to learn as it is an opportunity for the students. By seeking to find the key ways in which she can better herself as a teacher and provide a better level of expertise to her students, Anna will broaden her own knowledge base and seek to draw on that knowledge base of other educators as a way of better interacting with and imparting knowledge to her classroom. Faith and Works - Comparison of James 2:14 and Romans 4

While the apostles James and Paul agree that Faith connotes belief in God and Works connotes good actions, James contends that faith and works are both essential for salvation, while Paul asserts that faith is the only requisite.

James is unequivocal in his declaration that “faith by itself if it has no works, is dead” (2:17). However, he does not discount the importance of faith. His contention is that both are essential and one, without the other, is futile. He is addressing Christians, who, we may assume, are already among the congregation of the faithful, by virtue of their professed belief “that God is one” (2:19). Therefore, James accepts that faith is a precondition for salvation but asser...

Gender Pay Gap: A Discussion

The Gender Pay Gap is demonstrated by the fact that it is a consistent and widely observed phenomenon that women earn less than men (Becker, 1957/1985; Bergmann, 1974). Aside from this, there has been sufficient evidence that this form of wage discrimination exists in many cases for no other objective reason other than gender. This is proven by many examples of employers giving higher wages to men with the same position or qualifications as women.

Many academic and workplace studies have attempted to explain why this gap exists because such forms of discriminatory wage practices are a form of inefficient allocation of economic resources (Wharton, 2006; Blau & Kahn, 1992).

Since wages reflect the economic...

Lockheed Martin as a Model for Ethics in an Organization

Lockheed Martin (LM) had been focusing on petty issues like how to respond to a chain letter from the supervisor or how to deal with an employee who steals his child’s school supplies from the company (Guenther, 2000). They did not allow whistle blowing and there no ethical codes of conduct laid down. In 1997 McDonnell Douglas hired an engineer away from LM who carried with him all proprietary documents. Later that year McDonnell Douglas merged with Boeing, rivals to LM and in 2005 LM and Boeing decided to merge their space-rocket business and came into agreement to drop their litigation over the stolen rocket-contract information (Gates & Mundy, 2006). They could be barred from defense contracts and denied export licens...

Description of Two Established Personality Assessment Tools: Discussion of Strengths and Weaknesses

The Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) was developed in the 1930s by Harvard University psychiatrist Henry A. Murray and university student Christiana Morgan in the pursuit of identifying personality characteristics and unconscious human desires (Bosshardt, 2004). TAT assessments generally consist of 31 different cards in which varying ambiguous illustrations and photos are displayed, asking participants to respond to their interpretations of what is occurring within each visual image. Internal conflicts or motivational desires are generally projected by participants who are exposed to TAT assessments, allowing psychologists to determine the personality constructs of individuals.

The Sensation Seeking Scale (SSS) was deve...

Analysis of Isaiah 61:1-11 Book

The focus of this exposition is the book of Isaiah chapter 61: 1-11.  The King James Version of the Bible is used as well as the Judaica Press Complete Tanach Yeshayahu Chapter 61.  The Jewish Publication Society Tanach (1917) is also used.  Lastly, Rashi’s commentary is referred to as well.  It is worthy of mention that both the Jewish and Christian perspectives are explored here and that, in the true essence of research, one is not favored over the other.  Isaiah Ben Amoz was considered a prophet in his time. He was known to predict the deliverance of Jerusalem from the Assyrians. Jerusalem was freed from the control of the Assyrians in 701 B.C. which added to his credibility as a prophet. The whol...

Analysis of Romans 8:1-17

...ROMANS 8 17 Romans chapter 8 is one of the most benign, inspiring and exiting chapters in the Holy Bible1. The chapter unveils the means of one’s enlightenment and points out ways in which one can gain access to the Promised Land of Victory and retire from one’s own agony and resistance2. It is believed that the apostle Paul wrote it as a letter in approximately A.D 57 in Rome3 on one of his missionary journeys. The letter supposedly serves various goals and is renowned for its noteworthy influence in interpreting the endurance between the Jews and Gentile Christians as well as between the Gospel and the Old Testament. Romans 8: Life through the spirit4 8:1 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus...

Critical Review of 4 Papers about Education

... been convicted of the crime. The subsequent report identified failings, bias and racial hatred not just in individuals but also in the institutions that should have brought Stephen Lawrence’s murderers to justice. The author then goes on to back this claim up with some powerful statistics. The white-black discrepancy in achievements in national standardized tests is discussed. AS are the shocking statistics that show white and black students begin their public educations in Great Britain scoring equal on standardized tests but from the preteen years onwards, black students begin to lag farther and farther behind. The author points to this as a clear indication of institutional racism. He then concludes his argument by showing...

A Discussion on Fair Value Measurement

Among the accounting standards issued (and will be issued) by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) for the United States generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP) and the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) for the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), nothing has been more scrutinized and criticized than fair value measurement. In fact, the focus on this measurement has been increasing for the past years or so. The IASB, itself, has been working double-time to improve the fair value measurement standards. In 2006, the IASB issued a two-part discussion paper in its invitation to comment on fair value measurement. In introducing the said discussion paper, Sir David Tweedie, the IASB Cha...

Evaluation of Children with Visual Impairment between Ages 4-12

A visually impaired child may suffer from incomplete sight, reduced vision, total blindness as well as legal sightlessness (Kelley and Gale p 45). It is a condition that may become severe in a child, thereby affecting its growth and development. The impact is usually dependent on the kind of loss, age at which it occurs, as well as the general body functioning of the child. The normal interest that is usually evident amongst children on seeing attractive items in their surroundings lacks in a visually impaired child. This may interfere with the child’s learning capabilities unless he/she is assisted to learn. The development of social behavior in children usually depends on the ability to see parents or those in charge of ca...
