I am currently applying for a master’s program in tax accounting. There are several reasons why I choose Baruch Zicklin as my top choice to continue my educational career. I want to go to college at a place where the faculty can add value to my educational experience. Baruch Zicklin has a fabulous staff of professors that have lots of real world experience in business.

Another motivating factor in my selection of Baruch Zicklin was the wide selection of business graduate programs. Most universities limit themselves to offering only MBA degrees. A third factor that inspired me to join Baruch Zicklin is the great diversity of students and employees at the university. In college we learn a lot from our conversations and discussions with other students. It is said for smart persons to gain more intelligence they must interact with other scholars. Throughout my life I have always been a very hard worker.

I am currently employed at Warner Music Group as a tax accountant. In the past I also worked as a tax accountant for PricewaterhouseCoopers. In my experience in the business world I realized that in order for me to compete in the industry I have to expand my knowledge base. A graduate degree in tax from Baruch Zicklin would provide me with the training and education I need. Getting a graduate degree can add a lot of value to a person’s earning potential. A person with a master degree earns during a lifetime over $2.5 million. Making a higher income would help me support myself and my family.

Another benefit of earning a graduate degree in business is that it opens the door of opportunity. When a there is a promotion opportunity in the workplace people with graduate degrees are automatically the top in-house candidates. College is an opportunity for a person to improve their skills and abilities while having the privilege of getting know a lot of smart people. It is important to have a good balance between work, education and your social life. To have fun and earn supplementary income I work as a DJ.

I am also a part of a Bollywood dance troupe. These activities help me relax and have fun. I also like to read a lot. My passion for reading will come in handy at graduate school. It is not uncommon for graduate students to have to read over 100 pages a week as part of their workload. When performing investigations graduate students at times have to read dozens of journal articles. I am very committed to my goal of becoming a part of the Baruch Zicklin student alumni. Becoming a part of this prestigious educational institution will enable me to reach the next stage in my life.
