Designing and planning urban areas have been a critical undertaking since time immemorial. Concerns about the most appropriate design and plan for an urban or city setup has long-lived over the years. The decisions, activities, and projects that Robert Moses engaged in the shoe just how long the problem of designing and planning cities have lived. Robert Moses was essentially driven to possess power and authority in his place of work at any point in time. His autocratic disposition drove him to employ threats to quit work if his demands were not met.

In this way, his perspective to a modern city was not bound to be challenged. Moses always wanted his decisions to hold and his personally approved projects to be undertaken. In other words, the realized modern city in this respect was personally developed, without taking into account the concerns of any other involved party.Robert Moses wanted to exercise dominance in the modern city setting, as opposed to the commissioners’ vision for New York.
