Surf the Web Websites are designed and developed to meet different goals and objectives depending on the intentions of both the developer and the client. Websites are used for the purposes of business, education, socialization, communication, and politics among others. The reviewed websites include: university websites, American Cancer Association website, company websites (Apple), and State Education Boards (U.S) websites. Content divisions are structured according to the information that should reach the intended audience.

Links to related content are also provided, but the general content structure is primarily meant to address specific user needs (Sklar 372). Description of authorship varies from one website to another. This follows the notion that some websites are designed and developed for personal use, business use, or for public use. Business and organizational websites have the authorship described collectively, unlike in education boards and university websites where the authorship is described as a single entity.

Authorship is singularly or collectively described across the reviewed websites. Handling of images is done in an informative and communicative manner. The intent of using images in the design and development of websites is to capture a critical aspect of what the websites are all about (Sklar 409). Images used relate to fundamental aspects that the user should easily link to the website being accessed. The design and development of the websites in this respect also factor in multimedia content.

Variant multimedia content is integrated in the different websites in such a way that suits the diversity of website users. General navigation criteria of the sites are exhibited. This depends on the specific design of individual website. Navigational tabs are provided for major website components, and quick links to related pages are also made available. All aspects that each website addresses can be accessed from the Home Page of the website (Sklar 483). On the Home Page, all other links to pages that make up the website are provided.

Navigation away from a site can also be accessed from within the website. Works Cited Sklar, Joel. Principles of Web Design. New York: Cengage Learning, 2011.
