Introduction Events and festivals are activities that are held by tourist officials in a bid to look for strategies for marketing themselves. The chief role of events and festivals is the promotion of tourism through the use of autonomous power of attraction of the event and festival itself in order to complement the tourist supply to a certain destination. These areas encompass very significant attractive features so as to sustain different forms of tourism. They are areas of indispensable aspects when considering international draw of tourists not forgetting domestic visitors. Although they are not physical entities that one can see, they are provisions that are forms of clusters associated with an amount of the total number of tourists that visit a nation when these events and festivals are taking place. A classic example is the Sundance Film Festival (Vukašin & Dejan, 2011). People do not call them festivals and events for nothing; they are unique, interesting, exciting and full of life. They are prime opportunities for attracting and encouraging tourism, boosting the local community and generating positive media coverage. Children all over the world remember the joys linked with the festivals; the live and electrifying music, the colorful clothing and the breathtaking allure of cotton candy. Despite the change in the ways of the people and time, they are still a source of profound enjoyment for many people across nations. This section covers the implications with respect to the preparation and the occurrence of these fiestas. First and foremost, they are great and enormous anchors that brings into light vacationer destinations as they are always available. These are time conscious undertakings that makes individuals receptive by taking advantage of the chances to pack up and visit the areas before the festival ends. One gets to interact with the local cultures and beliefs and this essence of familiarity makes the world a superior place. Along with the visitors, the happenings attract a ton of opinion leaders and journalists. For these forms of fairs to the audiences, they designate as media-events inducing viable breaks for magazine or news stories. The stories sometimes play out differently from the media frame of the target which means the media illustrates another perspective from the previous one in the past. Such reports are an instance of new doors opened for the indulgence in even better service to the parties involved. Therefore, it is now easier for these areas to display positive facets whilst focusing on the media’s concentration on constructive unfolding events. For the inhabitants of the areas, these are the most apparent occasions that actively involve a celebration of their culture and hearten interactions with the guests. The residents of Munich, for instance, get to meet with their friends during the Oktoberfest that is a long standing tradition. They take much pride associated with the Bavarian culture and also enjoy local delicacies such as Brezn and Schweinsbraten. The indigenous people express their flatter in the context of international recognition of their ways of life. This immensely increases their confidence and this drives them to further promote, preserve and cultivate their traditions. In addition, the international sightseers spend money within these settings thereby strengthening its economy through supporting restaurants and other businesses closely attached to the fair (Michael & Liz, 2012). The Sundance Film Festival began in the remote Salt Lake City in 1978 as the then Utah/United States Film Festival making numerous efforts to bring into light filmmakers to Utah by Cirina Hampton Catania, Sterling Van Wagenen and John Earle. The initial objective was showcasing strictly American-produced films and highlighting the potentials posed by the independent film industry. It conducted a competition for independent American films through the presentation of a series of film maker presentation and retrospective films in the celebration of the Frank Capra Award. It also highlighted the works of many regional filmmakers operating outside the Hollywood structure. Factors that aided to propel the growth of the festival was the involvement of Utah resident and actor Robert Redford, who later became the inaugural chairman of the festival. The country desired other venues for celebrating the American films and this ultimately made Utah the permanent residence for the occasion. In 1985, the management of the festival shifted to the Sundance Institute that is a non-profit organization. In 1991, the official name became the Sundance Film Festival is relinquishing all duties and control to the association (Benjamin, 2006). The Sundance Film Festival takes place annually in January and the venue is at Park City Utah. It is a widely recognized as it depicts the premier for international independent and American film. Over the years, the festival has made numerous milestones to include panel discussions, film culture events, live music, online exhibitions, and youth programs as a result of its inclusive and electric programming approach. It receives an outstanding attendance of an estimated 45,000 people from all walks of life across the world and an approximated 1,000,000 users making use of technology to partake in the online teleconferencing experience. It creates a unique and vibrant community of artistes and spectators that amazingly broadens and widens further than the mountains of Park City, Utah. The fiesta offers a wide array of tickets that are considerably affordable. It is up-to the person to make up his or her mind and compare the options. Festival passes afford one the priority to access screenings without having to decide on tickets in advance. Ticket package holders are in the front of the lot in selecting tickets prior to commencement of the fair. Individual tickets are for individuals who prefer to view some of the sections of the broadcast. Credentials allow one the authorization to visit non-theatre settings including the filmmaker lodge. The Utah local’s package caters for specialized access to all of the above classifications. One may opt to purchase the ticket online or at the venue in Utah, but it is not possible to do so once it nears the premier. Sponsors fall in the categories such as presenting, sustaining and leadership sponsors. They include canon, HP, Time Warner, and YouTube (Benjamin, 2006). In conclusion, one needs to consider the future of events and festivals. There are driving forces that dictate the expectations of these iconic attributes. The desire for authenticity in experiences is a factor. Consumers are in search of experiences rather than manufactured products and it is possible to see an increased insistence of continued preparation of the affairs. The political and economic powers instituted by the events have two probable outcomes. One, the economic implications could lead to an increased relevance or the death of the festivals. The end result is the closure of similar instances due to the accrued deficits in planning for the occurrences. Some countries experience debts as some of the events consume so much more than the anticipated assigned funds. The future lies in the people around their world and the value they place in the events and festivals. References Vukašin Š. & Dejan Đ., (2011).
