One of the most important arguments stated in the paper declared that “a view that makes a man superior to a woman because he is physically ‘stronger’ lacks the support of the Quran and authentic Sunna.” Whatever constraints to the equality and rights of a woman in a Muslim society, wrote Osman springs from her obligation as a woman and as a wife in a partnership that results in marriage. In his view, the harmonious family and the welfare of children is paramount and women have to do their part to the point of sacrificing some freedom.

However, such limitation is within the bounds of fairness as the Qur’an mandates justice, love, and kindness within the family. All in all, Osman shunned discrimination against women in Islam, arguing that such a phenomenon is brought about by an unacceptable perverse view against the female rooted on Eve’s temptation for Adam to eat in the forbidden tree.
