Why you Wish to Pursue a College Education and Your Career Aspirations? My decision to apply at the Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology has been driven by my desire to become a competent commercial pilot one day. I believe that the educational institution has the expertise that can equip me with the requisite competencies that will allow me to become one someday. My desire to complete a college education comes from the stark realization that today’s industries require white-collar, intellectual workers of high caliber.

The competition in the workforce is now distinguished by cut-throat competition, and each candidate is assessed based on merit and qualifications. In this regard, I believe that being able to graduate from Vaughn College of Aeronautics would arm me for this competitive workforce scenario, particularly in the commercial airline industry. Moreover, a college education does not only represent sharpening of technical competencies. I believe it also talks about character and shaping of values. The rigor and the tedium which are required to secure a college degree is able to shape the student through the practice of fortitude, perseverance in adversity, camaraderie, collaborative working, and a whole host of other values that will be required of him to be successful in the workplace someday.

I am convinced that the education that Vaughn College will provide me with shall make me not only technically competent, but also someone who is a man for others, and someone who stands by and lives by his principles. Many a man have failed because of the lack of values and morals, and this is something I feel is strongly advocated by Vaughn. In being a commercial pilot, I will be able to contribute not only to my personal career aspirations, but also to the economy of the country as well. Flying does effectually promote tourism and the viability of out economy.

This is especially important now that we are experiencing an economic crunch globally. I would like to personally contribute by ensuring that all the flights I spearhead or am in charge of are characterized by safety, customer centricity, and respect. If people from all over the world see these as hallmarks of my service, then I would help my country make a mark in the airline/ airline services industry. Perhaps, it may be quite difficult to see how an individual’s contribution may make a dent to the big picture.

However, these incremental improvements, however small, can redound to something big. This may only be possible with a paradigm shift, not only amongst those who aspire to be pilots, but also for everyone. Each industry may be changed with collective efforts from individuals who are bent on changing it. At some point, I would also want to pay back whatever blessings I have received. As such, I also will endeavor to have a teaching career within the field of aeronautics. I would like to make a difference in the lives of the students I interface with, teaching them not only about flying, but also about life in general.

In the end, if they can grasp which things really matter in life, and as a consequence be better individuals, I would have a made a real difference. To summarize, my intent to be part of the Vaughn College stems from my belief that the school can accord me with both the technical and soft skills necessary to be a successful commercial pilot someday. It is in this capacity that I would like to make a contribution to our economy, and to society in general. Moreover, I would like to be an educator someday, so that I could transfer my expertise to the youth who share the same career aspirations.

I hope Vaughn would give me with this opportunity, and I am assuring them that I will do all my best to prove my worth in being a student of the college.
