Studying Quality Management helps people to establish the relevance of quality management in any business. It shows how quality management ensures that there is a superior quality services and products. The study establishes how essential quality management is in satisfying customers and which eventually encourages the customers to be loyal. A customer only returns to an organization if he or she was satistfied with kind of service or product they received from the organization. The organizational tools that manage quality assist organizations in creating and designing products that the customers desire and want (MSG, 2015). 2- What is the role of ethics and social responsibility in Quality Management? Ethics affects quality because the two factors are closely related. Ethics focusses on the production of that which donsnt cause damage whether individualy or societally in accordance with the pronciples that are socially accepted. Quality focusses on producing something that is right, beneficil and error-free in the right way. The progress of any business therefore, when viewed from the quaality and ethiccal perspectives can be very exponenetial. The business ethics and social responsibility are in most cases regarded as similar concepts. Social responsibility, however, is a single aspect of the business ethics disciline as a whole (Halisa, Akova, & Akova, 2007). 3- What is the principal internal manufacturing approach? This an approach that focusses on the strategic capability that helps a firm to be more effective in meeting markets demmands that are heterogeneous due to increased product proliferation. It gives the organization the potential of producing services and products of great qualitty. 4- What is the difference between needs and wants customer? The wants of a customer are simple. On one hand they are a reflection of how a given customer WANTS the business to treat him or her. On the other hand it focusses on what a given customer says that she or he desires; for instance he can desire a specific fetures of a product. The customer need is that thing that he or she lacks to help them solve a real life problem or issue. The needs of a customer are therefore emotional or functional and meant for a specific benefit. The wants on the other hand are services or products that may not be very necessary. 5. Define the 4 P in Marketing Mix at quality perspectives? The marketting Mix 4P refers to a method that is used to determine the product portfolio and product stragedy. It was coined by Neil H. Borden. The aproach has its basis on the cake mix analogy whereby the starting powder can be viewed as a very findamental basis for baking a quality cake. McCarthu Jerome cntinued with the works of Borden by coming up wih the 4Ps: Product, Price, Place and Promotion. The 4Ps are key marketing strategies which act as the mix bench mark. Their quality determine whether customers will be lured to aproach the business or not. 6. Explain the evolution of quality management? Quality as a concept has been through evolution to mean more than just the manufactured product integrity. The concept has evolved thanks to several leaders who made contribtions towards the same. The idea has moved from mere inspection to control of quality and finally to total quality management. Quality as a concept took a step forward when Taylor made a publication that related to scientific management principles. His writing had a lot of issues with quality control among them. Dr Edwards also inssisted on relevance of the role of management in delivvering quality. He also came up with the theories that helped organizations to prosper. He wrote down forteen quality points. Edward stated that the commitment of any organzation to quality is a clear depicion of how commited it is to remain relevant in the business. 7. What is the difference and similarities between TQM and TQC? Difference Total Quality Management is a process that is continuos that increases the out quality by doing away with waste and factors that do not add valueto a system. Total Quality Control on the other hand refers to the application of the principles of the quality management to a business from the stage of designing to the ultimate delivery of goods. Similarities Both concepts help a business grow because they focus on ensuring that the services and the products of the organizations are of good quality andd that the cutomer is satisfied. 8. What is the difference between ISO 9000 and ISO 14000? ISO 9000 refers to an international for quality management systems development that is potentially adoptable by any business. It focuses at enabling a company to demonstrate that it is positioned to provide services or products that meet the expectations of the customer. ISO 14000 o the other hand refers to an international standard focusing on management systems that are environmental and that are potentially adoptable by whichever organization. Volkswagen Company Case 1. What is the origin of the scandal of Volkswagen? Volkswagen was accused of diesel duping. EPA (Environment Protection Agency) found out that several VW cars that were sold in the US had some devices in their engines that helped to detect when the cars were on est. they could hence change the performance of the vehicles accordingly to improve the results. 2. Each Kind of standards US use to control the quality of Volkswagen vehicles? The US uses the EPA and the National emissions standard for VW vehicles quality control. The standard is backed by the Clean Air Act of the US. 3. Provide a brief overview on the standards used by US in the control of the quality of cars from the Volkswagen Company The USA clean Air Act holds that EPA should have standards that regulate the toxic air pollutants emmissions from the souce categories. 4. With any vehicle Volkswagen cars are compared? Volkswagen was compared to other vehicles like BMWs. Nissan and Toyota which hard better EPA standards. 5. Give a brief view of the economic consequences of Volkswagen Company The company automatically lost a lot of customers because of breaching the quality principle. Losing customers leads to economic fluctuation because the source of income has significantly gone low.
