Communication skills entail the concepts and methodologies that promote efficient and effective communication, or passing of information from one person to another. It is of outstanding importance that people join groups and stick to them if they are in a course to fabricate on their communication between one another. Communication in groups follows a number of concepts that are guided by norms and regulations that actually ensure effective and efficient communication within a cluster and the individual group members. This grouping can be in diverse ways as they can either be formal or informal depending on the breed of setting that the people have embraced (Hunt, 1979). There are various ways and methods that can be involved to have this done. The chapter has dealt with a number of factors that epitomize people` need to employ group working in most activities as a technique of communicating definably. Teams and team working has an extensive responsibility in communication as does an individual who engages in grouping. Various groups are also governed by values and principles that enable effective communication. Working as a team has a variance of significance as compared to working individually. This is well-exemplified in the chapter as there are various pros and cons of group working. Moreover, the chapter has dealt with the concern of necessity of having a group work at various circumstances, and the need for one to work solely and not as a group. People coming together is therefore one of the ways that has helped to compose communication to be effective and efficient (Likert, 1967). Body Cultural backgrounds In All There Superstore Company, the various employees ensue from these different backgrounds. This has been a chief subject of concern as it has acted to curtail a good communication that has been in existence. Moreover, the workers have been made to catchphrase from interpersonal communication all over the company apartments. This has also extended to the management of the company as members have been put in various groupings based on the social backgrounds that they come from. It has thus become one of the downfalls that have robbed the company of quality production and trust among the individual workers. The customers have left the company in search for other stations that are located in large popular centers, and get quality customers services. The company has thus counted loss in the daily revenue. Recommendation Communication is said to have taken place if there is no interference that has acted to foil its effectiveness. Some of the factors that cause interference of communication are the social backgrounds that act as barriers. The aspect of culture and its effects should be eradicated in the company as it totally affects its production and effectiveness in the management sectors. Moreover, the management authorities in the company should make it a law and a schedule that employees should refrain from the influence of culture in the working place and the daily life. The company should try to relocate its services to the customer-interest centers and solicit employees to be skillful in luring the customers Management of the company In the All There Superstore Company, there is the issue of ineffective management among the managers. This has been portrayed by the nature of the productivity that has gone down in the company, with a number of revenues being lost within a short span of time. The main issue is lack of effective communication between the employing committee and the employees. Most of the employers are very reluctant to answer to the please of the employees. A number of them have been witnessed using wrong communication skills as hate speech in order to conquer to the individual needs. Moreover, many issues are going unsolved and quarrels between employees intensifying. This is a clear interpretation of breakdown in communication between the employer and the employees. This has also translated to employees not serving the customers in a friendly way. Recommendation It is always healthy for the employer to be open and always ready to communicate with the employers in several occasions. Communication is actually one of the paraphernalia that has been use to fight quarrels among several disputing parties. The company should therefore strike deals that will endorse maximum and free communication between the employees and with their employers. Responsibility among the employers should be a necessity in order to solve the problem of lack of communication between the company stakeholders and the workers. The management team perhaps should hold meetings in which employer-customer-employee issues should be addressed. There should be monthly or even annual staff meetings to solve on every issue that arise. Employer & employee incompetence Competence is one of the strategies that have served to promote productivity of many companies in the world. The act of coming together as a group and handling issues is termed as social loafing. In the All There Superstore Company, the social loafing has been a major problem that has thwarted a continuum of development in the company. Various employees have not realized the spirit of working together as a unit in handling crucial situations in the company. Apart from the employees, the employers have not realized this concept; therefore they take no action to have it exercised in the company. Moreover, the employer and the employees seem not to possess other intellectual strategies of bringing customers to the company. Customers have thus gone to other companies. Recommendation The company should embrace the spirit of teamwork and networking in all it deals in. A company is normally made up of many people who are of different perspectives and varied in ideas. It is therefore wise to have these members come together and share ideas. This should be made a routine so that members will be able to solve individual issues between themselves. This will assist in promoting the productivity of the company as members will be free and cooperative in handling out their duties. These will also extent to the kind of the services that the customers will receive. The company should also involve itself in research and training programs so as to instill more skill to the employers and the employees. The company will consequently prevent loss of revenue to the moving customers. Moreover, the company should aim at reducing the high staff turnover to curtail on the loss of the revenue. Conclusion Communication is an activity that involves exchange of ideas and information by more than one person. It could be by two individuals or even a whole group of people. Ideas are transferred from one individual, known as the source, and gets to another individual known as the recipient. It follows a pathway called a channel, which could be a person or any other object that can serve the same purpose. This means that most of communication that takes place is in groups of people. Working as a team is therefore one of the ways in which people embrace the values of good communication (Hepner, 1979). To come up with effectual team of communication, there are various strategies that are involved by the individual people. These strategies involve the guidelines that are of help to the individual people in the assembly. In a group or a team, there are many other activities that take place as regards communication. Members are able to exchange ideas and information, which is actually of great advantage to each and every member in the group. This helps to improve on the production of the team. It is therefore clear that one of the skills of communication is teamwork. It strengthens communication between members and the entire human setting in any place. As far as there are other negative reasons that may result from forming and working as a group, teamwork explores the field of effective communication between people and groups of people (Hunt, 1979). Summary of Recommendations Communication is the key item in the world. It is the main tool that enables people expresses their views and ideas with one another. It facilitates gaining of knowledge by the employees and the employers so as to promote business of any company thus increase on the revenue. Moreover, it is a channel through which people are able to come together and share whatever they can with an aim of having an improved life. It is therefore very inevitable to embrace the need for skills and knowledge that enables people to come together and share information and ideas in the easiest way possible. For a subterranean understanding of the message, eloquent interpretation and magnificent implementation of the same, one has to fasten to the concepts of good communication between one another. Without skill, it is quite evident that communication won’t be as good as it would have been. Teamwork is one of the skills that can be involved for communication to be effective and resourceful between several people. In many cases, it is of necessity that people are involved in a group so that their rate of communication could be improved. It is therefore a recommendation that people should be able to come together and have a share of ideas that may be of benefit and concern to the situation at hand (Hepner, 1979). In the midst of teamwork, there are aspects that are of necessity for the team to be successful in whatever it is deemed to perform. First is the observance of the moral laws governing group work. Members` views have to be respected and adhered to by the leading organs of the group. This is very important in the execution of the roles and duties that are assigned to each and every member of the team. Moreover, each member should be responsible in the line of duty. This is due to the fact that the effort and contribution of every member will add up to the overall performance of the group, hence the success of the group.
