There are three districts in Canberra namely the Molonglo, Ginninderra and Brindabella. Canberra city is a well planed city with Lake Burley Griffin which was intentionally designed offering a great scenic beauty. It divides the city in to two parts. The parliament house is located in the Capital hill side strategically placed on a mound created on the southern side of the lake. From the parliament house, one can have a view of the war memorial and the Bimberi peak, which is the highest mountain, located fifty kilometers away from Canberra city (Australian national bibliography, 1993). The beauty of Canberra is enhanced by the architecturally beautifully designed buildings like the national museum of Australia, the Shine Dome among others. The city offers rich artistic creativity as well as cultural affiliations (Australian national bibliography, 1993). The transport means is well organized with the transportation well planned to connect all the Canberra’s districts via parkways and dual carriage ways. The speed limits are approximately 100km/hr at the maximum. There is no major traffic jams therefore visitors and any other road users are assured of good communication and efficient and faster access to their destinations (Australian national bibliography, 1993). 2.0. Analysis of research information A research was done to determine the car rental companies appropriate and conducive for use. In addition, hotels in Canberra were compared to establish those which offer better services at a affordable rates. 2.1. Car hire companies available Avis Australia was the first car company researched on. The company promises to offer twenty four hour road side assistance in case of problems with the car. It was noted, however, that the company only offers good discounts for car rented for more than sixty days. The company is specific in their condition that, any car that has been rented cannot be returned any more or the contract retracted (Avis Australia, 2011). The company offers a variety of cars for rental, ranging from sedans to luxury convertibles. The conditions of the cars are however not warranted upon reservations; they tend to change without notice at all. Another company of interest in this category is the airportrentacar company. The company operates in the major Australian cities offering superb services. The company offers the service of picking the clients free from their depot to their car hire company station. It is comparatively cheaper as compared to other companies like Avis, Hertz, Budget, Thrifty and Delta/Europcar. It also offers modern sports luxury cars which can bring a good experience to anyone who is touring Australia and would like to enjoy to the maximum. 2.2. Car rental analysis Due to the services offered by these two companies it is essential that a cheaper service but one that is best is selected. These are Abode, Forest hotel and apartments and Hotel heritage, they are all located in the Canberra city (‘Booking.com.’, 2011). Forrest Hotel & Apartments is located in the most beautiful and quite suburbs of Canberra. The hotel boasts of the most modern facilities in terms of accommodation. It is also offers free parking lot for its clients in a secure environment free from any threat. What makes this hotel unique is the availability of a range of facilities allowing for both service and self catering whichever one chooses. Abode Apartments is also a three star quality accommodation. Just like Forrest Apartment, it is not far from the city center and one has to just take a twenty minute drive to reach the place. It also offers quality services with each room having access to its own balcony among other amenities. The hotels though do not allow smoking. This can hinder some guests who might need to smoke. Access to the parliament and other places is easy and fast (Booking.com, 2011). Air conditioned rooms plus other high class amenities are the common characteristics of rooms in the Hotel Heritage. The hotel also offers a 100MB of free Wi-Fi. This allows customers to use their laptops to access Internet conveniently. The hotel is also a ten minute ride away from the city center having access to Viking capital golf club which is just a few meters away. All the rooms in the hotel are fitted with kitchen facilities like a refrigerator and coffee making machines (Booking.com, 2011). 2.4. Analysis of hotels All the hotels offer superb services. Customers are guaranteed satisfaction in all of them. The prices also are also found to be fair with all ranging at AUD 530 for approximate five days spending. It was estimated that five days could provide enough time for the gentlemen to sample some of the city’s scenic and architectural beauties. Hotel Heritage cost AUD 520 for a twin room for four nights spending while Abode offers a studio for two people at AUD 556 for four nights. Forest hotel and apartments offers the same services of a king room for AUD 530.
