Work plays an important role in my life with respect to attaining success in the long run. Work is significant in detailing the success of one’s life. Work is a reflection of my inner creative joy. Subject to Adorno’s belief, work is defined as a representation of life aspects in term of values. Essentially, work governance the roles that I play in the society and alleviation of poverty. Goals in life are determinant on the desired work one wishes to do. In principle, it offers a guiding principle in alleviating difficulties financial difficulties in the course of life. Non Work Roles Non-work roles are significant in different dimensions. The society forms an important part of my life; therefore the need to actively participate in societal activities is imperative. Participation in non-work roles has significantly improved my status in the society. The community expects that each individual plays a constructive role in building the society. In fulfilling the community expectations, various aspects need to be considered in order to sustain such advances. Through non-work roles, I am acquainted with individuals working in other professional; hence, it increases my knowledge base in a wide range of subjects. Need Strength Need for achievement offers a dynamic force throughout my achievement of success. More often than not, the drive to attain excellence is fuelled by a number of factors pertinent to achieving a desired goal. Motivation is central in achieving my desired goals. As such, I am highly motivated in performing assigned duties. Success necessitates the need to strive in attaining success in life. In this regard, motivation to excel in my studies has backed my resilience in education studies. Compounded by various challenges, I tend to focus on aspects channelled towards university studies. Attributed to the fact that finishers seek to be perfectionist, with conscientious character, I undertake my university studies with particular attention to details. The needs of social approval considerably affect my work environment. Critics play an imperative role in improving my skills; hence I struggle at achieving more success as opposed to my colleagues. In due course, I develop a positive relationship with other employees. Working in groups as such has garnered respect among my peers hence I am compelled to be humble throughout the course of work. This not only improves my openness to other work-mates but increases the propensity of better interaction and openness with other employees. Contrariwise, it develops a positive competitive environment with my peers. Creative personality Given my past dealings at the organisational levels, I have managed effectively to maintain peaceful relations with my peers and superiors. Evidently, having great confidence has elevated my functionality across various departments in the organisation. Compounded by a need to overcome fears, I have managed to gain extensive support from my peers. In this respect, I am bound to uphold honesty in my dealings because my peers look up to me in addressing various organisation huddles. Sincerity thrives in promoting an ethical working environment among the employees to a large extent. Nonetheless, it presents little room for mediocrity; hence sustaining a high level of intelligence is paramount. In essence, intelligence plays a mediating role during the decision making processes, conflict resolution and affiliated aspects at departmental levels. Solving different task necessitate the incorporation of brilliant ideas garners the support of other employees. More often than not, difficult tasks are met in the course of my practise, thus the need to have a vast knowledge in different key subjects. Such dealings alleviate the propensity to fail in solving certain issues. Extensive knowledge is paramount in dealing with certain aspects that are far beyond the grasp of some team members. This score suggests that I am well placed as a team player than a team leader, given the dynamics of team participation. Team Roles An immediate subordinate to the team leader, confers with my strengths and input to the team’s success. This role suits my character and prowess about the decision making process and offering advice on pertinent issues. Altogether, I can act as an advisor to the team leader and the team as a whole. Given the various governing aspects that affect the team’s functionality, I can better address issues that affect the team’s relationship to affiliated parties. More often than not I am incapacitated in upraising good performance or excellence of an opposing team. Nevertheless, a mediating role is paramount when solving issues or decisions arising from arguments or uncontrollable debates. In assuming such roles, I tend to be fair in such dealings with the aim of fulfilling the team member’s satisfaction. While working as an intern, I was part of a two team commission – comprising of five team members – were tasked to solve the pertinent issues at the workplace. The team was required to implement solutions that mitigated the organisational problems. Throughout the discussions, my extensive knowledge together with the ideas from other team members, helped build superior solution strategy. Collusion was inevitable during the presentation of the solution from both teams. My mediating role in creating a working environment, where the team players were able to present their strategies in an orderly and sustainable manner. My mediating role was significant in addressing the collusions. Undeniably, my role was indispensable in the process. Dutch Test for Conflict handling More often than not, I incorporate collaborative style of managing conflicts. Collaborative style attributes its significance through finding creative solutions that effectively satisfies concerned parties. I prefer a collaborative approach given the fact that a sustaining solution is realised at the end of the arguments. Although the process is time consuming it fosters trust, respect and builds a positive relationship between the parties. One such situation arose during university elections where, it was alleged that the winning party had interfered with the tallied results. The results were unacceptable. Our team proposed an annulment of the results. Ultimately, the teams conflicted on whether to annul the result or use the tallied results. Creation of a collaborative environment was important, prior to addressing the conflicting situation. This was significant because dialogue thrives in a working environment. Lacking such an important aspect may not be worthwhile. In handling the process, it was important to showcase each party’s difference and to identify the underlying concerns of the conflict. Tentatively, an understanding on the assumptions and views was requisite. Eventually, both parties came into an understanding that new elections compounded by fair polls were eminent. Although the wining party was displeased with the results, they were compelled to accept to the terms of the agreement; to conduct a fresh election. Read More
