Effective Communication Name Instructor Course Date Effective Communication Introduction Communication entails several aspects and total involvement of different body organs in order to be considered effective. This implies that effective communication comprises of body verbal and non-verbal aspects to facilitate the effectiveness of the indented message. Voice plays a vital role in communication; however the tonal variation during communication brings out a varied meaning. Basically, different tones are meant for implying different notations; for instance warning, joy, surprise, anger or fear. On the other hand, the body plays a key role in delivering varied messages or portraying certain image. Body language and facial expressions are used to enhance the effectiveness of the message being communicated to the audience (Steinberg, 2007). However, it should be noted that appropriate choice of body movements will result into effective communication on the contrary; inappropriate selection of body movement would result into ineffective communication to the audience. Working as a group requires a lot of practice and internalization of different aspects and ideas that the group intends to discharge. For instance if the group is meant for a joint function or to perform in a crowded audience, it must appropriately come up with the most suitable and recurring patens which delivers an intended messages to the audience (Grimshaw et al., 1997). There are several theories that tend to explain every aspect of effective communication with regard to voice, body and group. Generally, these theories are discussed by different people but they refer to the same idea or point. It is important to note that, before communicating to the audience a person or a group must know exactly what, they want to pass across and how to deliver it effectively without deviating from the indented message (Pauley & Pauley, 2009). Several forms of voices are produced by an individual especially when exposed to different aspects that entails voice production like bullying in schools. It came as a result of her previous declaration termed as “you dirty boong” this term was used during the time she was subjected to bully by her previous classmates. While speaking about the word boong, she chose to use a very deeper tone that resulted into “OOOOO” vowel (Linklater, 2006) this implies that her entire voice was persuasive as a result of the burst energy that accompanied her words (Linklater, 2006). Basically, bullying is a form of torture that results to pain especially to the victim and as a corresponded result she ended up producing a loud sound to signify the pain she was going through. On the other hand the victim can produce a very lower sound that personates from the inner parts of her diaphragms (Linklater, 2006). This use of lower tone by the victim was intentionally used as a pace slower. She deliberately added weight on worlds she used with a quicker and direct way while she was speaking; this portrayed an image of punching the surrounding air with the words she spoke to bring out her intended meaning (Laban, 1988, p. 69). The performer illustrated how the victim was exposed to torture, and how she was negatively affected by the bullying act as it was manifested in her anger. On the other hand, this article was characterized by the use of the term ‘dirty”. At this juncture, it is observable that the performer opted to use a tensed throat with the aim of producing a deeper but constricted lower tone that eventually resonated to her cavities that were considered lower (Linklater, 2006) the intend to restrict her voice draws an implication to the audience on how she was hurt, by the entire horrible act of bullying as she put more emphasis on the word “dirty” (Linklater, 2006). Laban movement analysis (LMA) is considered the best language and method for visualizing, describing, documenting and interpreting different forms of human movement. This approach is used basically as a tool by many musicians, actors, dancers, athletes and physical therapists. Additionally Laban movement analysis is broken down into varied categories ranging from body, shape, space to effort (Laban & Ullmann, 2011). The body category inclines, towards description of physical characteristics and the entire human structure while in motion. Similarly, this category serves in the capacity of giving further description about which body parts are engaged in movement, which body parts are greatly influenced by this movement, connections are taking place in which parts of the body and other related body statements. Several body (Linklater, 2006) .Organs were used with the aim of passing a specific message to the audience. Ideally, several body parts are used to foster appropriate and effective communication to different people, for instance the instructor can use his or her hand to give direction to the audience with regard to where they should go or be with a specified period (Kehoe, 2011). In relation to this performance, the audience was literally organized into manageable raw using body movements; this provided a smooth overview of the whole proceedings. “Arrogance is lame” is a group that embraced varied technique during their presentation; this created the best platform for both the audience and the performing group to play their parts diligently and with a lot of confidence, this is according to Schechner, (1994). On the other hand the group also deployed varied tonal variations and distinctive body movements in manipulating the sitting arrangements of the audience; this played a very vital role in enhancing proper utilization and maximization of time. Different languages were also appropriately and effectively used by the performers to direct or notify the audience to change from one event to the next with a smooth a swift ease (Ferguson, 2004). The audience were represented by different people, .this implies that there was need to arrange them according with the aim of coming up with varied viewpoints (Billingham, 2008). One of the performers deployed the wringing working actions to demonstrate glass cleaning (Laban & Ullmann, 2011) hearing and vocalization are considered movements, on the other hand emotions results from movements this is with regard to Iinklater, (1976). This gives further explanation of the core importance of both verbal and non-verbal forms of communication and other demonstrations that arose during the group work as they enhance the level of scene understanding by the audience. This was literally demonstrated and manifested by “arrogance is lame” group as they were in apposition of arranging different audience in several raw to form varied viewpoints (Maiers,1999). On the other hand, the group settled at using the second language while performing, significantly this implies that the different cultures were embraced and their importance made public to the audience. On the same note, the use of second language played a key role in facilitating development of varied forms of communication. With regard to Linklater (2006) our bodies and feelings are differently affected by a variety of vowel sounds. The tree of vowel by Linklater was literally displayed by the group that performed “movie Date 2012”. This was appropriate because the movie contained a lot of emotionally scenes that deeply touched the feelings of the audience. Every presentation by each group has deployed the eight aspects or working actions that ranges from dabbing, slashing, gliding, flicking, punching, floating, wringing to pressing (Laban & Ullmann, 2011). The group that staged the play ‘arrogance is lame” deployed almost every aspect of action work while they were performing. However, the most notable work action demonstrated by this group was the punching action (Worthen, 2002). This was used successfully and in successions to show a quick and direct motion that represented terrible fight which took place between two gentlemen. On the other hand, a character used money as a basis of showing off to another character that was previously considered a rich person; this showed the use of pressing while performing top put more emphasis on transformation in a strong but a sustained motion. In “movie date 2012” one of the performing characters run and goes around his lover in a slow and slight manner, this demonstrates how gliding was deployed successfully in the group as an aspect of working action that shows direct, slight and sustainable motion. This played a very influential role as it showed love and his loyalty to the lady (Laban & Ullmann, 2011). According to the other group named “understanding”, there is presentation of two women considered lesbians. The two women literally struggle against each other; they push and pull (Laban & Ullmann, 2011). This portrayed an old man making his way across the two women. The old man stopped a while and realized that the two women were kissing each other, he continued with his journey by pushing the chair. This implies that the architecture of space given is rightfully used and it also means that the topography is also rightfully utilized. Conclusion The above discussion revolves around several aspects of effective communication as they were deployed and demonstrated differently and successively in class. With reference to different theories, the performers literally contacted their performance diligently and as per the requirements of the theories. The entire class project is considered successful because different and varied forms of communication were used by different performers to enhance appropriate and effective communication of the intended message to the audience.
