Development of BioCote Limited By: A SWOT analysis would be one of the perfect model for analyzing Biocote Limited. This model is very useful in evaluating the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats involved in a business venture. SWOT analysis would be the best since it aims to critically evaluate the key external and internal factors that are important to Biocote Limited when achieving their objectives. Bicote has scored highly when it comes to antibacterial technology. There are many strengths of this developing company.

The most significant strength is its hygiene standards. The corporation has proven that it can ensure antimicrobial protection by using more hygienic surface. By using such a surface, the company is able to prevent degradation, staining, and odor safely and neatly. Additionally, the company can integrate its technology in any environment. This allows for flexibility and be able to sign 1-2 new customers every month. Moreover, BioCote is able to sell its products directly to customers. The company does this type of service because it has a higher responsiveness to customer demands.

It mainly offers their services in hospitals and food outlets. The company also has weaknesses. First, it has formed no partnerships or strong relationships with other providers of antibacterial technology. Bacteria, fungi, and even viruses can be harmful to life. Other players in the medical sector often operate in collaboration in order to prevent negative effects to health. However, BioCote has not collaborated with major providers. The company has many opportunities open to it. There is desire of many people for reduction in effects of bacteria, fungi, and H1N1 virus.

Moreover, other service providers that is currently in BioCote’s market offer expensive services and of poor quality. According to experts, customers in the medical sector are often loyal, and will never leave a product once they trust it. This is an opportunity for BioCote to improve its product and service delivery so as they tap in more customers. The most influential threat faced by BioCote is downturn in economy. Due to poor economical conditions, many people are unable to afford the company’s technology.

Additionally, a PESTLE analysis would be a good model for analyzing BioCote Limited. This model will primarily focus on BioCote’s external macro environment. In broader terms, PESTLE analysis analyses the Political, Economic, Socio-cultural, Technological, Legal, and Environmental factors of a BioCote. Starting with political factors, BioCote operates in political stable environments with good attitudes of political parties. The UK government has friendly tax policies towards businesses, and has less involvement in trading agreements.

BioCote is headquartered in the UK, and the country’s legislature has formulated laws aimed at controlling health and trade activities. BioCote cannot escape legal factors in the UK and other countries it operates in, since there are trade regulations, employment laws and consumer protection laws. Second, there are economic factors. BioCote is headquartered in a fully grown economy with good economic growth, high level of employment, favorable costs of energy, affordable interest rates, fair monetary policies, and good exchange rates.

However, this economic condition is for UK where the company is headquartered. The company operates in over 25 countries and the economic conditions vary in these countries. Third, there are socio-cultural factors. The company operates in over 25 countries and each country has its own different culture. The difference may come in the form of age distribution, population growth rates, level of education, distribution of wealth and social classes, living condition, and lifestyle. For instance, the company operates in the UK and in Brazil.

These two countries differ a lot when it comes to living conditions. Majority of people in the UK could afford BioCote’s technology because they have better standards of living as compared to Brazil. Fourth, there are technological factors. This includes the rate of new inventions and developments. The company has been a technological giant because it is headquartered in the UK where there is advancement in communications and business information technology. According to statistics, majority of Britons are able to access to the internet because their government encourages growth of the IT sector through provision of favorable regulatory environment.

The UK government spends a lot of money on research thereby encouraging its citizens to focus more on technological developments. BioCote took advantage of this initiative by the government, and introduced the first antimicrobial technology. Fifth, there are environmental impacts. In many countries that the company is operating, natural resources are facing destruction. BioCote aims to use its technology to sustain natural resources so as they can be enjoyed by present and future generations.

That is why the company uses cost-effective dust depressant and soil stabilizer that are non-toxic and environmental friendly. The company products are often derived from natural ingredients in countries it operates in. Reference MacRae, T. (2014). Strategic Management. London: Prague College.
