The paper "The Coca-Cola Company Analysis" is a wonderful example of a case study on business. The Coca-Cola Company is the largest beverage company in the world. It has more than 500 sparkling and still brands in its portfolio. Coca-Cola, the company’s flagship brand, is refreshing the consumers for more than 128 years (Coca-cola.com, 2015). The cola drink is one of the most recognizable brands and is a household name in many parts of the world. Coca-Cola has been ranked the 3rd most valuable brand in the world in the Interbrands annual rankings (OReilly, 2014).

The genesis of Coca-Cola can be traced back to May 8, 1886, when John S. Pemberton, a pharmacist served a cola drink at Jacobs’ Pharmacy. The drink was named ‘Coca-Cola’ and laid the foundation of an iconic brand. The drink made a humble beginning. In the first year, merely 9 drinks were sold per day. In 1887, the ‘Coca-Cola Syrup and Extract’ were registered in the U.S. Patent Office (World of Coca-Cola, 2015). Since then, there has been no looking back. At present, consumers enjoy the company’s products 1.

7 billion times every day (Coca-cola.com, 2015) The Coca-Cola Company has diversified its market offerings to include ready-to-drink coffees, juices, juice drinks, energy drinks, and water. The beverage behemoth owns 17 billion-dollar brands (Seeking Alpha, 2014). Some of these immensely successful brands are Dasani, Diet Coke, Fanta, Sprite, Coca-Cola Zero, Minute Maid, Schweppes, Simply, Georgia, and Del Valle.  18 of the top 20 brands are low- or no-calorie products or have a low- or no-calorie alternative.

In all, the company markets more than 3500 products worldwide (Coca-cola.com, 2015). The Coca-Cola Company grew 3 percent globally in 2012. It generated revenue of $48 billion and a net profit of $9 billion during the same year. The robust financial position of the company can be gauged from the fact that its annual dividend payout has increased for 51 years consecutively (The Coca-Cola Company, 2013). The Coca-Cola Company’s products are sold in more than 200 countries around the world.

The Atlanta, Georgia, based company generated 21 percent of its volume sales from North America, 29 percent from Latin America, 14 percent from Europe, 18 percent from Eurasia & Africa, and 18 percent from the Pacific region (Coca-Cola.com, 2015).
