Interior Design The term interior design defines a combination of activities that consist of converting interior space a valuable setting for the accommodation of human activities, which happen in the place during the coordination of human activities. Events are important activities in an individual’s life as it marks the completion or achievement of a particular thing in life. To some people, these events come in a lifetime, and this makes it very special and the due plans need to be undertaken in order to see that any kind of event has brought out the best to these people. Many people make sure that they have organized the events well in a way that they will enjoy to their maximum. This process is what is known as event planning. This is whereby someone or a group of people plans on the aspect of budgeting, selecting sites and fixing dates of an event (Walsh,50-100). In the colleges, students are mostly concentrated on the class works and passing of the exams without the minds of developing something to show the use of knowledge acquired in the class. Projects are used to demonstrate the learned concepts from class and put into use in the real world. The projects may be the development of a paper that demonstrates the process of doing some activity, or the construction of a thing that shows the knowledge of the student in the real world from the classroom learning. Students use the topics or the units learned from the class to conduct the research of the projects in the outside world. As part of the syllabus or a requirement by the instructors and the lecturers the project completion and grading gives the student permission to apply for the graduation. The interior design of the place involves the manipulation of the usual appearance of a particular space and well planning of activities in order to meet the specifications of the event owners. Some areas where the events are held were not initially constructed in order to be used for these purposes. Therefore, intense planning and design needs to be put in place in order for the areas to fulfill the required objectives. Some designs are developed and printed in ready copies where people can access and use them to manipulate their places to meet their desired outlooks, these planned and printed materials are efficient for the people but not satisfactory as some things needs to be done. This research project analyzes the ways to go in planning for a wedding event, which will take place in a maximum of two days. The event will be performed in a church, where normally the design of the church is planned according to the way to accommodate the congregations and not for other non-related functions. Therefore, the church setting needs to manipulate, and it requires additions of some materials in order to be suitable for an important function as a wedding. The projects paper gives a plan for the amount of money to be used in making the event a success, the number of guests to attend in the event and all the activities that will be undertaken in order to accomplish the wedding. Cost of the materials and the processes being the key issue in the development of the events and determining whether they will be successful, every topic about the event organization will be based on the amount of cash to be used (Walsh,100-150). The paper will start with mentioning of the number of guest, who will attend the event, the means of transport, the interior design of the event venue and much more. The event venue In the venue designed for a wedding, I will use the church as a venue. Having talked to the pastor and the management of the church there will not be required to spend a lot of money in hiring a place to conduct the wedding. The amount of money required will only be money for decorating the inside of the church and the interior designing of the church in order to impress the wedding attendants. First, a runway will be required where the bride and the bridegroom will walk in the time of wedding ceremony and the attendance of the mass. The cost of hiring and placing the runway in the church will require about 250 dollars for using the runway carpet for the whole two days. The church requires to be arranged in a way that the congregation will be sitting on one side while facing on the side where the groom and bride will be seated. This planning will require some special chairs in order to make the event colorful. The chairs are hired from the social hall the ones they use to prepare the government VIPs whenever they visit the local area for the developmental meetings. This will not cost much as the chairs are for the public, and the only cost that will stress is the transport cost for the chairs to the church. The average cost of the transport is expected to be 50 dollars from the hall and back after the two days events have been completed. These seats which will be used by the VIPs will be arranged in the front of the church as they will share the same arena with the pastors. The seats in front will be arranged in a way that every person in the church will see all the guests. The overall designing and decorating of the church inside, this includes the costs of the balloons, curtains, and other wall decorations will cost an average of 200 dollars, and this is not expected to be returned back. Therefore, this material and the cost will only be kept in expectation of them being resold in the future. The arrangement of the church for this particular day will be such that nobody who will sit in a disorganized manner, there will be sections labeled on where each type of people according to their ages will be seated. On the left side of the church from the congregation, there will the best maids who have accompanied the bridegroom, and they will be facing the opposite side where the best men will be seated and them facing the best maids. The total quantity of seats of the two sides will be sixteen. That is eight on the left and eight on the right hand sides. On the part of the congregation, the front low on the right will be occupied by the elder people both male and female. In the front low on the left, it will be occupied by children. This area will also have the less elderly parents in order to keep order among the children. At the back of both lows, it will be occupied by the youths who will sit in the order they feel appropriate. The guests The event is expected to be attended by an amount of a maximum of not more than a hundred guests who will include the VIPs and the family members who will come from all over the world. The reception needs to well furnish, and the seats reserved for the guest. The guest’s drinks and the foods which will be consumed is planned to cost about 150 dollars, this amount of money is designed to be the cost of drinks and the comfort of the guest in the wedding. The sitting arrangement of the important people in the wedding will be reserved in the front seats which are to be get from the city. This seats which are usually given out by the member of the parliament in the cases when there is any event in the village. The transportation of the guests will also be included in these costs and the bus, which will be used in the cases the guest will move the newlywed’s new home will be fueled by the money used for the miscellaneous expenses. The bus will be required to be paid for to the owner in compensation of the two days in use. The cost of the bus is expected to be about 100 dollars. This cost will be settled before the bus is given to the holders of the event. After the whole event and the process is over, the guests will be transported to their destinations and the hired materials be returned back to their owners and be paid. Logistics The transportation of the bride and the groom to the church will be required to be made well, and a classic car in favor of the wedding will be required. There is required a limousine vehicle that will carry the groom from her home and a range rover to get the bridegroom from his home into the church. These cars cost a lot of money to hire, but they are much required since this is one day event, and it comes ones in a lifetime. Therefore, despite the high costs of the cars and the heavy costs of hiring the experienced drivers to drive these vehicles, they will be really needed, and anything else can wait. The cost of hiring on limousine in one day depends with the mileage the car will have travelled. The same case applies for the range rover, but the cost per mileage for the limousine is double the amount for a range rover. The home of the bride is which is far from the church, therefore, for the case of convenience, and in order to be in time for the wedding, the bride will use the limousine. The bridegroom is not as important as the bride; he will be transported by the use of the range rover. By that the transportation of the event VIPs will have been completed, and the remaining bits will be for the transportation of the food stuffs from the cooking areas to the church where the event will be held. The food will be transported from the groom’s home where they will be prepared to the church through the use of a van. The vehicle will be expected to make two rounds take the food fully. The first round will be transporting the food for the normal attendants of the events. This food will be placed at the corridor of the church where they will be served from, and all the normal attendants will be required to line up for the food. The van will consume fuel that will already have been covered in the costs of the food. The next round will be to transport the food to be consumed by the VIPs, the food which will be served on the tables where they will be seated will be taken by the vehicle to the front door of the church. The food will be required to stay in the vehicle until the function is over, and that is the time that the guests will be served with the food. After the wedding function in the church is over, the newly wedded couples will be transported to the photo session site both in the limousine. There will be no need for a range rover anymore, and it will be returned to the dealer immediately the wedding function in the church is over. Risk management As in every occasion, people are exposed to different kinds of risks which may befall on them. Accidents may happen such as the breakdown of the machines required to be used for the services as the transportation, people involved in the operations of the wedding may corrode with things in the occasion and course mayhem. There is required to have at least some amount of cash set aside in order to take care of these kinds of emergencies. The money to b set aside for the risk management is expected averaged to be 1000 dollars for the whole occasion. This money will be stored by the event planner and he or she will be in charge in case of anything happens in order to generate cash for an emergency to be well taken care of. The after party session This session involves the cake cutting and the photos for those who will want to take photos with the newly wedded couples. This section will also include the gift presentation by those who wish to present some gifts to the couples. This session of the event will take place integrand far away from the church. The ground to be used will be hired from a private investor where it will not cost less than 500 dollars for an afternoon event. There will be public address machine provided, and there will not involve carriage of any materials from the outside. The whole process and the activities will be completed in the evening at around 6pm, and all the guests transported back to their destinations. Those with their vehicles will use them and the ones without will be transported by using the bus that has been hired. This will make sure that everybody who has presented themselves to the event arrives safely in their homes without any hiccups or mayhem along. The newly wedded couples are to be transported to their new home by the limousine which will require to be returned to the dealer. In conclusion, events are very important in the people lives and many people want to get the best out of the lifetime events. As discussed by the paper, events like graduation, weddings, ordinations and many more needs to be well planned and be as economical as possible. The organizing of the events needs to be done by professionals who will make sure that nothing brings the progress of the event into a standstill. How the event has been planned above was learned from my class and the knowledge I have used to plan for the event has been well planned, and the necessary inputs from the class work applied. Though there are challenges as the overspending and not meeting some of the costs in the course of the event, the proper rationalization of the resources should be put at stake. Different occasions have their approach and the methods of preparations. The attendants of the events are the ones that should be used to plan for the activities. All the stakeholders in the events should be well taken care of in order to verify that they are happy and satisfied. Except for the sad moment events like the funerals, people are supposed to make the best out of them. From the foods prepared entertainment, happiness, the public address materials used, the environment by which the events are held should be made in such a manner that they bring a joyful mood to the people attending. After the event is completed, it is always good to make sure that everything is left in good shape and if possible, in a better state than it was found.
