Hawaiian Restaurant Introduction: Restaurants may look like a simple business, but there are a lot of variables to consider prior to opening. The restaurant business is not like other businesses; people who want to start up restaurant should understand that they must work with heart. Moreover, there are a lot of features in restaurant that should be satisfied, prior to build a success restaurant. In my perspective, this market is very complicated because people should consider about uniqueness, food & law regulations, location, target customers, and maintaining trust.

The owner of the restaurant should synergize all of those elements for their new restaurant. In this essay, I will briefly cover the most important points in setting up a restaurant business. Uniqueness: First of all, the uniqueness of the food is the most important factor. It is because by being different among other restaurant can make people always remember the restaurant. At the beginning of my business, I don’t want to build five branches instead I will concentrate on my only branch. By concentrating on one restaurant, I believe I will find the perfect formula of building a strong restaurant.

In order to achieve my first point, I am going to find the highly skill chefs who are able to cook many different foods. The unique concept of my restaurant would be a Hawaiian restaurant that serves sushi, Western foods, Asian foods, and Wine on the bar. I will decorate this restaurant with Hawaiian scene. So at the moment, people who are going into my restaurant can order any foods that they love, or they can have their leisure time. It is because my restaurant serves many types of foods. I also believe that people are going to love my restaurant, and they will share the uniqe structure of my restaurant by word of mouth.

This would be the most efficient marketing strategy. Food Law&Regulation: However, with this uniqueness I should concern about the FDA regulations. According to the FDA regulations, I should put poultry, and meat in the freezer with 40-degree Fahrenheit. Furthermore, I must not freeze the canned ham, so when I serve the raw foods like Japanese foods. I should provide the wasabi to help kill the bacteria that still in the raw foods. In addition, I should maintain other foods based on the FDA regulation in order to keep my restaurant on the rule, and serve healthy delicious foods.

Location: Secondly, location is crucial for my restaurant. Choosing a strategic position for my restaurant within easy access of those who are potentially interested in having access to Asian and Hawaiian foods will allow more people to be drawn into my business. Location will help my restaurant to be well known in Washington area, so I plan to build my restaurant in 3333 Connecticut avenue NW Washington, D.C.. After doing survey, and research, I found the data that there are a several of people with different races who live in Connecticut area.

Those are Asian, Hispanic, White Americans, Black Americans, and Caucasian communities. My restaurant is appealing for them because I can serve any kind of foods that they loved. Besides the data of demography, my restaurant is approachable it is very close to the metro train station, and bus. Furthermore, there are a lot of parking spaces, and it is very conveniences for people who are going to drive their car to have a lunch or dinner at my restaurant. Furthermore, people who have to go to their office every day will frequently pass by my restaurant.

So I believe because of the location of my restaurant, it would help my restaurant be known by a lot of people. Target Customer: After location, I have analyzed that the target of the customers and it would be upper middle class. I believe that there are a lot of this type class people living in Connecticut area. By reflecting on that situation,I have to adjust my restaurant standard so it would be fit in to my customers needs. I have to set a beautiful, and luxury decoration, but I will not set the dress code in order to dine in, which would give the customers a more comfortable environment and make them more likely to return.

Maintaining Trust: Finally, the last element that I need to fulfill for the requirement of building a good restaurant that I need to maintain trust with all of my customers. As in other businesses, the customer has to trust the quality of the food and the environment before they return. This could also have the benefit of friendly recommendations. Besides word of mouth, many people may upload the data online about the quality of my restaurants. There are many websites which people visit to give recommendations (good and bad), and others use to choose eateries.

This medium plays as one of the most important role in the world of business today. People who are travelling to a new place will be depending on this site. They trust this site review. So by maintaining trust, and provide the greatest services for my customers. I am going to receive positive feedback on Yelp, and Trip Advisor and these will help to improve my restaurant popularity. “Over time, Yelp’s crowdsourced reader rating system can make or break a restaurant” (Harvard Business School 2013).

Ensuring that my restaurant has good reviews will secure future customers. Conclusion: After looking at many of the reasons why a restaurant becomes successful, it is clear that a unique concept is one of the most important aspects. After this, it is important to comply with food and safety regulations which could impact trust and return customers. After location, I need to target the right customers, and how to maintain trust with all of them. I believe if I could synergize all of these restaurant elements, I can bring my restaurant to be one of the best dining places in my area, and my next plan after I accomplish my initial goal would be opening another branch.
