Admission Paper s 25th April Introduction This paper being an admission paper it will highlight on my personal strengths and weaknesses and show how they relate with my career aspirations and even the master’s degree I intend to pursue. Further, the admission letter will stipulate how the master’s degree program will be of benefit to me. Strengths and weaknesses In reference to the writings by Porter (2011), he described strengths as factors that can give a person or a business organisation competitive advantages against others while weaknesses are factors that can contribute to the failure of a person or a business organisation.

While undertaking my undergraduate degree program as well as high school education it became quite evident that I have strong academic abilities in subjects that relate to the field of business such as finance, economics, and accounting. However, during the course of my learning experience I have discovered that I have major academic weaknesses in science subjects. Based on my strengths in the field of business, I have been inspired to pursue a career in the field of business and hence why I chose to do a master’s degree program in business administration rather than a master’s degree program in the field of science where I have major academic weaknesses.

Secondly, while working for a telecommunication company abroad for a period of seven years and as a current part-time manager of a restaurant here in the United States I have shown great strengths in dealing with people from different cultures as well as integrating and participating efficiently in teams. Moreover, I have shown great leadership skills that have given me the opportunity to serve in some senior positions or play key roles in the organization where I worked and currently work. However, under my contributory work experience I have shown great weakness in devising strategies that can resolve short term and/ long term problems that can emerge at the workplace, but this is mainly because I adhere strictly to the laid down rules and regulation.

My strengths have inspired me to pursue key managerial positions and I have decided to pursue a master’s degree program in business administration in order to be qualified for such senior positions in multinational companies or become a successful businessperson and to know how to devise business strategies as well as resolve problems that can emerge within a business. Thirdly, my strengths in regards to my personal qualities and characteristics include excellent time management, excellent communication skills, ability to work without supervision, and the fact that I am a good team player.

However, I have a major weakness of being a perfectionist that at times can be misinterpreted to be rigidity. Based on my strengths and weaknesses I believe I can be a good manager or businessperson and hence why I chose to pursue a master’s degree program in business administration. Benefits of a master’s degree to my professional and personal life Having a master’s degree program will open many opportunities for my professional career and I will be able to achieve higher career or professional goals such as getting a much better job locally or internationally.

Pertaining to my personal life, a master’s degree program will give me the opportunity me to pursue my personal wish of becoming a successful businessperson during my lifetime. Conclusion From the above discussion, it is evidently clear that I have certain weaknesses and strengths of which by pursuing a master’s degree program in business administration I will be able to enhance my strengths further whilst eliminating my weaknesses. Secondly, the master’s degree program will give me the opportunity me to rise in the career ladder and further be able to successful venture into private business.
