Business Analysis of Westinghouse In recent times, more and more businesses have come to appreciate the need for them to be proactive in their competitive industry in order to consolidate their advantage over key competitors. Because of this, businesses are no longer putting premium on their personal qualities but are critically looking into ways of strategizing ways into making innovation and initiative change their major focus. Westinghouse is not to exempt when it comes to the dynamism in business transformation.

Of late, one of the keen areas that the company has looked to in terms of business transformation is in the area of business strategy and process analysis. The company builds on the principles of these themes to command their desired changes in their businesses. As of now, Westinghouse focuses on a corporate business strategy, which aims at making the inputs of all stakeholders paramount in the organizational structure. Research Questions For a successful business analysis of Westinghouse, it is important to identify a number of key areas that will be of focus.

These areas bring the following questions to mind: 1. Who are the competitors of Westinghouse? 2. What is the strategy used by Westinghouse? 3. Is the business strategy used by Westinghouse appropriate in its business environment and it is serving as a catalyst tool for growth against competitors? 4. What new areas of organizational growth does Westinghouse seek for itself in the immediate future? 5. How does Westinghouse position its self to become a global leader in its area of industry? Evaluation of Business Strategy used by Westinghouse Through process analysis, has often times come to identify new models of business strategies that suits the company for different prevailing economic climates.

It has actually been identified that “processes can have a significant impact on the performance of a business, and process improvement can improve a firms competitiveness” (Net MBA, 2012). Based on these process analyses, Westinghouse has come to settle on corporate strategy as its main business strategy. Strategy in general has been identified as “managements game plan for strengthening the performance of the enterprise” (Stewart, 2008). For this reason, it is would be true to conclude that the success of business performances rests on the kind of strategy they use than any other factor.

With the corporate strategy, Westinghouse depends on the inputs of all major stakeholders in the company’s corporate affairs to bring about needed change. For instance the role of workers as the engine of productivity is well oiled by putting in place motivational structures that ensures that the work force is in position to put in their best to deliver quality service to customers. The corporate strategy practiced by the company has opened up to new dimension of organizational management style for the company whereby the democratic management style is the major management style used by the company.

This ensures that all stakeholders have direct input in all decision making undertaken by the company. Due to the corporate strategy in place by the company, it has succeeded in achieving major commercial fetes, which includes the fact that it as gained global expansion to almost all continents of the world; increased aftermarket sales; become a leader in new product development; and increased its annual returns even in the face of depreciating global economy (Fromartz,, 2009).
