Short-and Long-term Career Goals A successful career is deeply rooted in goals and objectives that ought to be achieved within a given period of time. This is in line with the fact that education is an on-going process, characterized by stages whose conditions must be met every time one stage is complete, and there is need to proceed to the next level. Personally, my career goals are primary based on my education pursuit. Completing my English language program and enrolling for Master’s in Business Administration is my short term career goal.

This is built on the ground that my career heavily borrows from the academia world. In the long term, my career goals are based on the idea that I will have successfully completed my studies and I will therefore be settling down to put my knowledge and skills in practice. The underlying goals herein are to establish stable career based on field of expertise, strive to achieve personal financial stability, integrate my career to societal needs, and therefore provide a functional concept that emanates from a personal perspective but benefits masses in the long-term.

PSU MBA program is structured in such a way that suits these goals, making it a perfect choice form me. My focus to the essentiality of academic success keeps preparing me for these goals. On the same token, I have learnt to realize opportunities from challenges that unexpected negative experiences in life. Also, I do not put any limits to the desired level of education, and this keeps me open minded and highly ambitious. PSU MBA program is well structured to suit student needs, nurture and develop career interests as well as management and leadership skills.

With this, the program will successfully help me achieve my goals. The program will combine my interests and career to build a wholesome individual with outstanding business administration knowledge and skills. Position of Leadership Leadership is a common practice at individual or social level, right from the world’s history to the present. Personally, leadership is well founded in my life. The most significant position of leadership I have held to date is student leadership. The duties and responsibilities that came with this leadership position were an opener of what leadership encompasses.

Although I had been exposed to both direct and indirect leadership practices before holding this post, student leadership was quite demanding, presenting a wider scope of leadership at a personal level. A number of leadership skills were exhibited during my leadership term, each of which was unique to me. This position exposed my charisma, enthusiasm, team player skills, and transformational influence in leadership. It also made me realize that even a leader becomes a follower at some point (Northouse 395).

In other words, I was at the service of my fellow students, and it was not always about leading, but following as well. All these combined outlined my strengths in leadership. Weaknesses are inevitable if present. My position of leadership exposed some aspects that I really felt they needed to be developed further. Airing my point of view was personally essential. Although I knew it was not mandatory that my view would hold, it was not an easy account deal with. On the same note, when I thought I had given the best to my leadership, some aspects were still challenged.

This for a moment posed a personal flashback of whether I had made the right decision before implementing my decision.
