Capstone Activity Report The main activity this week was to tabulate and analyze data that was collected in the last module. Respondents volunteered a lot of information that needed to be tabulated to allow progress to the next step. Information given by many VCs and entrepreneurs was presented by data collectors, and now it is being proofread. This is very important because errors are rectified at this stage giving room for accurate submission of data. Unfortunately, some of the target respondents could not be available for interviews but they promised to create some time during this week.

This means that there is some previous module’s work that is currently going on. This could not be ignored because such respondents were considered due to their prowess in the industry. Therefore, information availed by them can be of great use to the study and project as a whole. In fact, some sections of the project are complete. For instance, literature review is already completed awaiting completion on the next chapters. This is because it is independent of results obtained from the actual field.

Whenever, progress is stuck at certain points the other sections continue to be worked on to ensure that the project timings will match its completion time. However, we had a lot of verification to do in order to ensure that information is correct (Pallant, 2011). For instance, we have made telephone calls to most of the respondents to seek clarifications on information that we felt as if it was incomplete. Fortunately, we managed to reach the majority of respondents and they made clarifications very well.

Some information was erroneously recorded hence creating an uphill; task during tabulation. The project is so far on track with the set work plan. This is because we have been able to achieve much of the anticipated activities. For instance, we were able to prepare questionnaires as outlined in the work plan. This was a great achievement as we were able to proceed to the next week without workload from the previous module. In addition, we have managed to collect a lot of data within the set time frame which again meant that we are doing pretty well with our timing.

Although, some information has to be collected during this week we are sure that it is not going to cause any delay. This is because only few respondents have to avail their information. There is no change in the work plan or deliverable so far as we are working very well with the set plan. In fact, a lot of our expectations are being met and this has created a friendly set up for completion of the project within the set time frame (Pallant, 2011). The slight revision on our work plan is where we have to collect information during the tabulation week.

This was necessary because these people were among the key target respondents. These respondents have the required expertise hence reliable and their information can be of much essence to the project as a whole. It was agreed that the available information should be tabulated while waiting for the remaining few respondents. This was vital to avoid stalling the entire process because of information from few respondents. Furthermore, tabulation involves individual information hence independent of the remaining information.
