Innovation Management at National Industrial Gas Plants - Case Study Example

The plant managers not taking much effort within the planning process of the organization. The role of organizing and leading are parts of daily activities and basic functions of the organization whereas defining goals for future and performance of the organization was not considered by the management mostly due to lack of management skills and less understanding of the KPI measurements to attain goals, efficiency and effectiveness.There is still the old workplace, the flow of financial information of KPI is prohibited from seniors such as Sales Manager, Production Manager, Quality Specialty Gases Manager from the Chief Accountant due to strict instructions from the Vice President, the new digitization of workplace is starting to take some shape by implementing the new ERP system (Epicor) with integrated maintenance asset management system which would enable better workplace and will improve the flow of information.

But still, the mission and values are not towards the new workplace. The Operations Manager who is being accustomed to being in charge of making all the decisions and knowing where their subordinates are and what they are doing at every moment. New workplace having flexible work environment, which in theory allows employees to work anywhere, anytime as long as they complete the assignments and meet goals, and by creating an organizational climate that values risk taking, applies current technology, tolerates mistakes and failure, and rewards non-traditional thinking and the sharing of knowledge.
