Step As Area Supervisor with work experience of more than 10years, I have been able to ensure that the operation of the unit meets all the requirements against safety standards. Under this capacity, I have been able to ensure safe and reliable operations of a process plant from the well head to the point of delivery. The production quality and numbers are the prime responsibility of the Area Supervisor, and the magnitude of these parameters can be only sustained and improved once the production facility is managed and operated in safe and reliable manner. It is the responsibility of the Area Supervisor to identify gaps and areas for improvement, and communicate the bottlenecks to the management for review and consideration purpose. (Step 2) During my career as Area Supervisor, I have accomplished and achieved following with satisfaction and success, 1. As Area Supervisor, I was able to ensure personal and process safety and keep the team motivated through open communication. 2. As Area Supervisor, I was responsible to optimize the daily production and minimize losses to ensure efficient delivery of Area plans. 3. As Area Supervisor, I provided support to Operations technicians on day to day activity on Process units to ensure that sale specs for oil and gas are complied with. 4. As Area Supervisor, I monitored regular well behaviour and trend monitoring through predefined Well Testing, Pressure Drop Surveys and Annulus Surveys. 5. As Area Supervisor, I coordinated with respective team leaders to prioritize and schedule Maintenance and Construction activities. I further ensured that modifications in the plant are carried out in accordance with the requirements of MOC procedure and COW standard requirements. 6. As Area Supervisor, I reviewed Work Plan and TRA for routine and non routine activities. I further handled the responsibility of preparing shutdown and commissioning plan for these activities. 7. As Area Supervisor, I conducted in-house compliance check for the Permit to Work system, identify gaps and prepare and implements action closure plan. 8. As Area Supervisor, I scrutinised on closure of Action items identified during Audit, Incident Investigation, and Safety Observations for Continuous Improvement. 9. It was my responsibility as Area Supervisor to identify Hazards, update the Hazard Register and follow for the immediate control and subsequent elimination of hazards at all facilities. 10. As Area Supervisor, I participated in HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, PHSSER, Risk Assessment Studies, Process Safety Reviews, Pre-start-up safety reviews. 11. As Area Supervisor, I updated ERPs and SOPs are available on site and roles are clearly identified and understood by operations team. 12. As Area Supervisor, I provide support to my interfaces in managing unskilled labor, well-site contractors. 13. As Area Supervisor, I maintained good working relationship with stakeholders in the community. 14. As Area Supervisor, I have in-depth knowledge of different standards applicable on oil and gas facility which includes API 14C and 30 CFR 250, and IEC-61511. Will my employer conduct my certification and trainings related to process safety, planning and work strategy, and business values? 7. Will my specialization in business management be of any valuable resource for the company? 8. Will my company consider my nomination strongly for any position related to my recent certification of business management? 9. What is an average experience required for consideration in the upper management level? 10. What is the difference of remuneration for switch over from technical to managerial job? 11. What is the difference in the career progression for technical and managerial personnel in oil and gas sector? 12. What other avenues can I explore on the basis of my +10years of work experience in oil and gas sector? 13. How practically can I aim for the position of directorate level in the oil and gas sector based on my technical and managerial acumen? 14. What other qualifications do I require to prosper as potential candidate in oil and gas sector? Yes the expansion in the oil and gas sector adhere to the basic business principle of demand and supply. Once the industrial activities slow downs because of curbs, turmoil, embargoes or sanctions then the demand for oil and gas products goes down. Once this is realised by the oil producing organizations and countries, the production numbers are brought down with sole intention to prevent any slip in the oil prices. Therefore expansion in the oil and gas sector is only possible when demand for the oil and gas products amplifies, and this amplification id driven by the overall economic order of the world. 2. All the oil and gas units particularly in American and Europe comply against the safety standards. Several auditing companies at national and international levels have been introduced to ensure that such units are operated in reliable and safe manner without any imperilment to the property and life of the employees and employers. 3. Yes, all the obsolete equipments and control systems have been declared redundant. Such inspection and audit activities are carried out by the company and governing authorities. 4. All the catalysts and external chemicals at site have been provided with Material Safety Data Sheet, and this list contains of precautions essential to maintain safety of the operating facility. 5. OSHA standards and compliance in the oil and gas sector is under progress. 6. Certification and training is the part of the annual objectives for different companies, and the companies are accountable to the governing authorities to confirm that their team is adequately trained and capable to operate and maintain the facility. 7. Cost optimization is primary objective of very oil and gas sector, and such qualification will positively give an edge to the employee against their peers. 8. Such decisions are driven based upon annual accomplishments of the employee. Such decisions are at the discrete of the employer. 9. The average experience is between 15-25 years, however it is not only the experience which determines promotion to such level. 10. Such information is proprietary. No strict regulations are available to differentiate between the salary packages of managerial and technical team. 11. No strict regulations are in place to answer for such questions. 12. Research and development, design engineering, manufacturing units are different options which can be explored apart from current career. 13. No such regulation or system is officially in place. 14. Management degree will always give positive edge to the employee with technical acumen over his peers. (Step 6) Oil and gas is among the sectors which directly influences the quality of the life of millions and billions. The economic activities of developed, developing and under-developed countries are strongly dependant upon the activities within oil and gas sector. The professional associated with oil and gas sector have strong professional progression with financial remuneration. In United States and other developed countries, many exploration and operational units are functional. The opportunities for the affiliated employees are therefore plenty; beside such sector has an affinity towards employees from technical and managerial acumen. Understanding of perspective related to Safety, Environment and Health are strongly required for career progression in oil and gas sector. OSHA standards, API compliance and adherence to national regulations are the strong expectations associated with this career. The business value of the oil and ahs sector can be only adjudicated by individuals with technical acumen, therefore individuals with more than 10 years of work experience are strongly encouraged by the employers to participate in the developed of business model for the sector. The technical experience and management certification are ample to avail and execute managerial responsibility associated with the feasibility study of the project on technical, financial and commercial grounds.
