More specifically, when being asked whether their company updates its technologies, both employees answered positively. At the same time, it seems that firms in the parcel industry provide their employees with the appropriate training in order to handle IT systems. In fact, both employees answered ‘yes’ in a particular question. Generally, the training provided by the firms under examination to their employees could be characterized as sufficient. In the case of customer support, the employees of both firms have accepted that they have given appropriate and sufficient training in order to handle all customer inquiries effectively. It should be noticed that the development of their IT systems has been a priority for both firms under examination. In practice, both employees who participated in the research supported that their firms update their IT systems regularly. To a more specific question (no 16) related with the IT systems used by firms in the parcel industry, both employees accepted that their firms have implemented all type of technologies required for the appropriate operation of their IT systems (the particular question refers especially to the implementation of segregation, routing and sorting technologies).
An issue that has been extensively examined in the business sector is whether firms have the right to transfer their employees across their branches even when there is no clear acceptance of this transfer by the employee. Regarding this issue, employees in the firms mentioned before accepted that their firms transfer them frequently; however, this transfer involves in the greater area of employees’ residency.
